Here's the Blackcaps - how I see them.

Brendon McCullum - great captain - batting: either hot or cold (best in the team or worst)
Ross Taylor - great batsmen: world class.
Kane Williamson - classy player: going to be one of the worlds best batsmen in coming years
Jesse Ryder - super talent: own worst enemy
Tim Southee - consistent performer across all formats
Trent Boult - going to be in the top 3 in the world in the near future
Jimmy Neesham - great talent, good batsmen but needs to work on bowling consistency
Corey Anderson - super talent but lacking cricketing brain
Daniel Vettori - always going to be economical, can he take wickets?
Luke Ronchi - good batsmen and sound keeper
Mitch McClenaghan - able to take wickets, can he become more accurate?
BJ Watling - consistent performer
Martin Guptill - great short form batsmen
Tom Latham - going to be a great Test opening batsmen for years to come
Neil Wagner - gets wickets when Southee and Boult don't
Hamish Rutherford - lacks patience and temperament for international level
Ish Sodhi - undecided whether he'll make it at Test level as yet
Nathan McCullum - good all-round cricketing ability, sound not brilliant
Mark Craig - started international career well, don't think he is long-term
Matt Henry - going to be a star in the future
Adam Milne - so much promise but injuries hold him back
Dean Brownlie - great back-foot player but poor on the front-foot might hold him back
Kyle Mills - great servant of NZ cricket - at end of career
Doug Bracewell - way down the pecking order, unlikely to get many more opportunities
Hamish Bennett - might get limited opportunities to see his potential

NZ cricket isn't in too bad a shape in recent years, certainly a lot better than the laughing stock sides I watched growing up. Still heaps of improvement needs to be done to get up with the top teams. I guess it's always going to be hard work in such a small country that has a love affair with rugby which dwarfs sports like cricket.

When you are pretty much guaranteed to get through to the quarters and it's being played at home they will be at least some sort of outside chance.

dude would you agree neesham and corey aren't test players I reckon they should play odi and t20's, while other new batsmen will be given a go because both of them haven't been scoring runs.

They are still learning their crafts, both have Test centuries under their name. Too early to tell but both of them probably won't be playing Test cricket forever.
