I'm sure councils will find plenty of time to top-dress grounds in mid-October.

I dont think brutal was referring to the councils when he said "I suspect this is what happens when you have people in charge that aren't clued into the requirements of sporting clubs".

Unfortunately one council is holding up proceedings apparently. Failure to communicate time frame for what grounds will be available is the issue. my understanding is fixtures were locked and ready to go, then grounds were pulled or delayed.

This is rubbish, every season I can recall grounds arent available at the start of the season but fixtures have always been out before the end of August.
So why dont they release the fixtures and if they have to make ground changes everyone will understand.
Not releasing anything and not saying anything shows them to be incompetent.

How crap is that the lower grades dont start till like oct 15th the seasons starting late enough as it is dont need to delay it any further...

I agree, whoever decided that the 2nd Saturday in October in 2017 should be on the 14th should be sacked. The DVCA should pull a few strings and bring forward the 2nd Saturday to the 1st of October.

That would make it worse that d make 2nd saturday 1 day later. Hang on making things worse is what dvca do best anyway...
