Premier Cricket 2011/12

being someone form outside of melbourne but still keeps an eye on premier cricket. carlton being on top is that a surprise or not? Whats there list like?

No surprise at all, they have a strong list.
Jake Hancock: Former Victorian junior rep, solid opening bat.
Simon Keen: Former Australian U/19 all-rounder who has played for NSW.
Tim Buszard: Former Victorian junior rep and an Australian u/19 player.
Nathan Pilon: Former NSW 2nd XI player and selected in th St.George team of the century.
Tom Smyth: Victorian u/19's last season.
Peter Manser: Has played for Victoria 2ND XI and started the season in the 2nds

Thats just a few, there are many more and just had 5 players picked in the Vic 17's so there is plenty of talent at the blues.

Outstanding considering who they've lost - Gulbis, Peter-Budge and Dickinson from last season, Welsford a few years ago and Ludeman also. But just keep churning them out. Di Venuto a great coach from all reports.

Shane tells me that the Pennant Committee are thinking about replacing next Sunday's T20 with the second day of the current two day match as most were washed out today.

Interesting to see Simpson named for St Kilda, took five for his new club in what would be one of very few appearances you'd imagine, although not really sure if they've got too many other spinners on their books, the Stars. And Reardon was named for the Sainters' co-tenants, the Kangas, but ended up getting a game in the Shield when Hopes pulled out.

Good to be out seeing some 2 day cricket again, too.

Heard around the traps that Joyce got involved as a bit of succession planning down at the Blues.

Muirhead signs a Big Bash contract with the Adelaide mob, but still gets to play for St Kilda and Victorian U/19s.

The reamining 2 one day games on Saturday December 17,2011 and Saturday January 7,2012 will now start at 10am instead of 11am due to the Big Bash League games at the MCG.

Really? I thought the Renegades were having a camp down at Geelong, and that Richmond were playing on the Wednesday before a Stars training session and a Women's game.

Hmm, well, Richmond did play on the Tuesday, but there was no Tait. Good to see Hawthorn get a couple of wins on the board anyway. Heard that they managed to stop North Melbourne from recruiting their young pace bowler, Jones, who was on the way out only a week or two ago.

Ringwood vs Prahran in the T20 stuff, interesting in that Ringwood have traditionally struggled in the shortest stuff since it's been played at Premier level. Prahran always strong in the limited forms.

Paddy Smith from Melbourne CC takes away quickest bowler title after the tea break on Day 3. Anyone else that people thought should've been having a trundle in it?

Casey 'Stars' were supposed to play this week -apparently Durnbach, Luke Wright, Matt Wade and Damian Wright were tipped to front up for the game this week but Stars not releasing Luke Wright or Wade due to chance of playing BBL finals.

Not sure. But if the curator can't get a playable deck up in this weather, Richmond should get the points.
If it was unplayable why did it take an hour to call it off. Can Richmond push for 10 points after a couple of outrights on weekend or just the 6

Shane told me last night that the Cricket Victoria website had two tweets stating that Richmond had been awarded 6 points and gave the new ladder positions. Thirty minutes later these tweets were gone.
What has happened? Did Richmond get zero points, 6 points or 10 points?
Did Hawthorn get the points because Richmond walked off? What is the result?
