I don't think there is any other country that commonly laughs at their own accent than Australia...

Or maybe perhaps New Zealanders. Any accent Australian's find funny must truly be funny

The "it's not a sport" is nowhere near as bad as "it's a sport for girls" (which it is as well, but when you are a guy it tends to get on your nerve).

I proved one wrong by bouncing him once in the nets (he was a soccer player ) and he gave up, but still doesn't help.

Someone who plays soccer calling cricket a girls sport??
tell them to play real footbal - union.
