Re: South Africa in England

England looking at a massive first innings total. The rain has been stop-start for a while and their are still some dark clouds over Lord's.

England are 7/579. Ian Bell is still there, not out on 192 and approaching a double century. He and Stuart Broad put on 152 for the 7th wicket, Broad made 76 of them before being bowled by Paul Harris after a sweep across the line didn't come off. Ryan Sidebottom is the new batsman ans he is on one.

Morne Morkel has been South Africa's best bowler by far, 4/121 from 34 overs. Paul Harris has toiled hard for his 2/123.

A way to go yet for South Africa, they been thrashed in this game so far with no answers to Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell as even Stu Broad for a while there. They have a lot of work to do with the bat once they get a chance, victory for them has almost been wiped from the equation.

Re: South Africa in England

Ian Bell out for 199, poor **************.

He scooped one back to Paul Harris off his own bowling and becomes the first batsman to register 199 at Lord's. Straight after that Vaughan declared at 8/593. Smith and McKenzie were out there for a few balls but decided to end the day when they were offered a bad light/spitting rain combination from the umpires, I'm not sure which one it actually was, doesn't really matter though.

So after day two, here is the summary:

England - 8dec/593
Ian Bell 199
Kevin Pietersen 152
Stuart Broad 76
Alistair Cook 60
Morne Morkel 4/121 (34)

South Africa - 0/7
Neil McKenzie 5*
Graeme Smith 2*
Jimmy Anderson 0/0 (1.2)

South Africa trail by 586 runs with ten wickets in hand, they require another 386 runs to avoid the follow on.

Re: South Africa in England

McKenzie bowled round his legs by Panesar

South Africa 4/83 needing 310 more to avoid the follow on :D:D

Re: South Africa in England

South Africa were skittled for 247, great effort by Ash Prince batting with the tail to salvage some respect and notch up a well deserved ton. Monty Panesar was the best bowler for the Poms claiming four wickets. Vaughan has sent SA in again and they are 0/13 at stumps.

So after day three, here is the summary:

England 1st Inns - 8dec/593
Ian Bell 199
Kevin Pietersen 152
Stuart Broad 76
Alistair Cook 60
Morne Morkel 4/121 (34)

South Africa 1st Inns - 10/247
Ashwell Prince 101
AB de Villers 42
Neil McKenzie 40
Monty Panesar 4/74 (26)

South Africa 2nd Inns - 0/13 (Following on)
Graeme Smith 8*
Neil McKenzie 1*
Kevin Pietersen 0/2 (2)

South Africa trail by 333 runs with ten wickets in hand, they require that amount to make England bat again.
