Sounds like the pitch for today will have pace, bounce and is almost as green as Kermit... I'm not going to get too excited yet though cause I recall a certain Dunedin Test where they said similar things and it turned out to be one of the most placid pitches of all time lol. Will have to wait and see.

Looks like Craig will play either way which is strange. Why not play four seamers if it really is like the groundsmen is claiming? I just think there must be room for either Henry or Milne in the side to add extra pace to accompany the swing kings of Southee and Boult.. Out of the selections they've made, I'd go with Southee, Boult and Bracewell. Not sure this pitch will suit Wagner's type of bowling.

Checking the internet. That last wicket you got excited over was Thirimanne? He scored a 90 at the SCG a couple of summers ago. I liked him. Filthy he didn't ton up that day. Disappointed his career hasn't kicked on.

Could have been anyone. Today has required a lot of patience haha.

New Zealand can be immensely proud of how they bowled today but also credit to how Sri Lanka batted in tricky conditions.

This is a fantastic pitch for Test cricket.

Had to feel sorry for Southee, Boult and Wagner having to bowl those last few overs. They've all had massive workloads while still maintaining quality bowling standards.

The Sri Lankan tailenders could only hit the deliveries that were going on to hit the stumps.

Very very satisfying victory! I know there is still another Test but we beat Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and now at home and I still count Sri Lanka as the best subcontinent Test side so things are looking up for New Zealand cricket.

What a year for Brendon McCullum and the whole of New Zealand cricket! 6 Test victories in the year which is the most ever for New Zealand!

So many records broken in 2014. :D

Good win by New Zealand, they seem to be on the rise in the test and one-day arena of late. Hopefully they can keep their good form going into the World Cup.

With Fulton dumped and Rutherford failing one innings after another, who partners Latham at the top?
If NZ is looking to the future Michael Bracewell might be worth a shot, otherwise we are back to Guptill. Unfortunately they are going to give Rutherford another go, he has to be dropped until he starts to get his footwork and shot selection right but they love him for some reason.
