TALL TALES

I see, as in a pilfering magpie of the feathered variety. How long has she lived here Terry and when did you first become friends.
We've been friends for over 3 decades and more so nowadays. She's been in Austrailia even longer.
I've put oblique pressure on the Magpie though to return her 1961 electric Gibson guitar worth over $5k. I'm prepared to even up the pressure if he whinges. I think he realises that.
Stealing from a dying woman is reprehensible!

That reminds of an incident at boarding school. One of the few privileges we kids were given was a bag of lollies and a book at end of year in honor of the founder of the school. In between my mother and step fathers regular visit, a distant aunt (to me anyway) visited us and as she knew my mother I put my book plus my treasured 100 metal piece game of the Battle of El Alamein into her trustworthy (so I figured) hands to pass to my mother as I did not want to lose or have stolen any pieces. I never saw it or the book again. True story. 😡 At least I got to eat the lollies.👌

That's horrible what happened to you Craig.
Thieves lose more than they gain in stealing.
It trashes their reputation.

I did not mind about the book but the desert war play set helped keep me sane in that place.

Mate I think this is the exact game that I was given. WOW they are still being sold more half century later. Jeez if I ever become a grand father with a grandson I'll give him something like this. You think he'd appreciate it?

For many years I was into playing War games on boards, hex paper, lead figurines, Counters, Napoleonic ship battles, Dungeons and. Dragons ... I still have my figurines and painted some of them.

The magpie I mentioned returned my friend's Gibson guitar and amp. Worth ~ $5k + ... She put it here Will anyway to a Music Group she is a member of.
I actually took her out to a very nice restaurant on Friday with 6 other old friends. That was really nice for her.
