Re: The Future of the Aussie Test Side
That is true that Krezja needs to work on his game but he has more potential than Hauritz does. He has a lot to learn and needs to get a lot of bowling under his belt. He needs to realise that when the ball is turning (like it was in Perth) that he needs to bowl a fuller length so the batsmen can't play him off the wicket.
He needs to eliminate that loose short ball out of his game. He needs variation, he needs an arm ball. No finger spinner can call themself a strike bowler without an arm ball and it would serve him well as he's a big turner of the ball with his standard delivery.
It was very dissapointing to see him not bowl with variation and not bowl a full length.
On the pace side of things, average bowlers bowl accurate, great bowlers bowl accurate and move the ball off the straight. Lee got wickets with his extra pace which he has now lost, he is too short to move the ball off the seam and he doesn't swing the ball.
Johnson bowls offcutters that leave the right hander off the pitch so he stays in the side.
Siddle isn't ready yet, he is in the same category as Lee, exactly.
Bollinger is the best state bowler of the last few years and is definatly a test player, a great left arm swing bowler who is tall enough to hit the wicket hard enough to get seam movement.
Hilfenhaus is wonderfully skilled, right arm swing bowler who would take a lot more wickets if he bowled a fuller length with the new ball and when it's swinging. He is accurate and is ready for test cricket.
Lets get some bowlers in who can move the ball and start taking some wickets and get rid of the muppet pacemen who bowl dead straight and put just enough pace on the ball to make it easier for opposition batsmen to hit.
Good to see Hilfy and Bollinger in rushed into the test squad, best they debut here and get some expierence because we must use them in the ashes..
