The Lounge 2

Why the need for these additives, which are supposedly to enhance shelf life, taste and flavor, when we ate natural ingredient foods growing up and were bloody healthier for it.
1.Whenever something is possible, it gets done. Research and companies follow this principle because they hope to get a competitive advantage. Competition is the ultimate driving force.
2.Another reason is the wide-spread demanding attitude of consumers expecting all kinds of food to be always available. Neither side steps back.
3. Did we eat natural ingredient foods because we preferred it or because nothing else was on offer?
4. Were we healthier when the mortality rate was higher?

Fast food for example. The world has a lot to blame America for with this convenient but certainly not healthy food. Hot dogs for one were made with a mixture of high fat, low-grade and unconventional animal parts designed to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. Excessive saturated fat can lead to clogged arteries and heart disease. And the Yanks ate a hot dog almost as a staple food.

Try this Thomas. Even tho it is a Yank doing the expose.

I'm afraid this is not the one we're looking for. It's not about polluted food but it's an introduction to different articles offered in supermarkets. I'll try to dig up another on. The guy has picked up an American accent but he's German.
