Did you compare yours with these two Aussie owned companies Actron Air and Seeley International before buying. There is this big 'BUY AUSTRALIAN" push at the moment to lift our manufacturing base. Buying foreign products does not build our economy.

I'd normally buy Australian Craig but my 'go to' Good Guys didn't carry those brands you mentioned.
All my friends have Fujitsu air conditioners which I favoured and a few months ago the Jujitsu and Panasonic 7.1 Kw brands were $2000 each but last week the Fujitsu one's price increased to $2300 while the Panasonic dropped to $1850 on a Black Friday sale, so saving $450 I went for the Panasonic, another 5 star unit.
Reading specs the Pansonic has more hi-tech functions than the Fujitsu and I've often bought many Panasonic items which have always served me well.
My Smart tv is a TCL, an Aussie brand, and it's excellent. Years back I always bought Aussie made cars, mostly Holden and once an EA Ford Falcon. Sadly that was Lemon.
 
We're about to have a 38C day on Monday the first day of Summer. That's be a record not seen before.
Even though I prefer warm to hot weather it still takes me a while to acclimatise to our increasingly very hot summers in WA.
I confess to being annoyed by Global Warming deniers, and anti Vaxxer's. Basically ignorant anti Science twits talking rubbish imo. They're so dumb they don't know how dumb they are. Global Warming is "not" an opinion, it's a fact.
 
My old Dad had his hip smashed in WWII in a Sub in the North Atlantic. Penicillin not available being reserved for D day. As he grew old his injury worsened to the point where he became wheel chair bound. Spine collaping and basically crippled. Taking him out was a real chore for me lifting him into my car. My own back is a bit delicate too.
I always displayed my Dad's Acrod Permit.
So imagine my annoyance when I took him out to shops and some lazy selfish twerp was parked in a wide car bay reserved for disabled people with a paid for Acrod Card to be displayed. Wide to enable wheel chairs to be used.

Yesterday I saw a flash car parked in a disabled bay and saw a fit guy walking towards the car. I asked "Is this your car?"
"Yes" he said "I was only in the shop for 5 minutes."
There was an empty bay for all adjacent to the disabled bay and lots of other empty bays, and a clear sign saying it was for Disabled people, with fines for the illegally parked.
Letting loose my righteous Irish anger I yelled at him "That's no f***ing excuse you moral midget!" He went red with embarrassment. I don't think he'll park in a disabled bay again. I surprised myself too.

I feel similar to cars speeding through 40km/h school zones. Having taught kids for thirty years I know how silly they can be, like the 14yo male student I knew who ran in front of a truck. He died instantly.
They're children who are often so careless and thoughtless.

I had a Geeks2U IT wizard come over today to give my devices free software for various programs and apps on my 3 devices. And sorting out some glitches.
I'd printed out a list of my needs which he followed frequently suggesting the best option for each device, showing me them and putting in short cuts, even improving visuals like zoom vs text size. There was a little snag there, the only one due to my previous fiddling... opps, a little knowledge can be dangerous. 😯
$185/hour but in 50 minutes he'd ticked off all my work items, and even more like with my flakey QR reading app, showing me a much easier way with just my phone's camera.
I learned a lot from this expert IT chap and have used him before. I've recommended him to friends too. Crikey, he's cheaper than a plumber or sparky and knows his stuff back to front. 👍

Western Australia is predicted to have a very hot Summer. The other extreme, which is why I've just bought a Panasonic 7.1Kw reverse cycle split system air conditioner on a Black Friday pre sale sale.
They're not cheap to run though and I may get some solar panels, maybe? And a storage battery?? It'd cost about $1/h to run in eco mode. It's mainly for hot humid conditions which exhaust me now nearing seventy. When it's just hot and dry, which is the summer norm in Perth, my evaporative system works very well.
Those norms seem to be changing tho, especially in Eastern and Northern Australia. Some towns are being lost being so prone to floods. Uninsurable too.

I hope the additional air con will be effective. I also took advantage of the black week by buying software, a mobile phone, and a tablet for my wife and a new compressor whose rechargeable battery died during those frosty nights.

Losing whole towns and possibly regions sounds dramatic. What damage did the last cyclone in the north cause which Craig reported on?

What sort of compressor of what with a rechargeable battery is that!
I'm just curious.
I have a Karcher water compressor with power cord and hose. That's good for outdoor cleaning. Even my car with a wider and softer spray for the duco's sake. Great for wheel trim and stained pavers. Even preparing things for painting.

We're turning more and more to rechargeable batteries, and many Lithium ones unavoidably nowadays.
The cheap ones seem to cause the fires, and idiots over powering them.
My big and reliable lithium battery powered Ryobi yard Blower for instance is very safe.. It's so easy without a power cord. Likewise my lithium battery powered phones, tablet, radio, 2 stick vacuums, phone, laptop, Insect zapper, Braun shaver, radio, toothbrush, ... it's amazing how much of those rechargeable devices we mostly all have nowadays. Endemic, ubiquitous, necessary, unavoidable .... I still keep an alkaline battery powered radio and torches for power blackouts.... and lots of spare batteries."Be prepared" was my old Scout meme.

I've had it for two years and it does an excellent job pumping car tyres , bike tyres, (in your case) and bicycle tyres in a flash. Light-weight, tried and tested. I just forgot to take it out of the shed in good time, and what's more, used it to pump two tyres of my car when the device was still half-frozen. Silly me. It suddenly stopped working just after it had finished pumping. I immediately ordered a replacement but then realised the next day that the device had obviously recovered. I cancelled the order and am now waiting for a chance to test it. Will keep you posted.

That's a good tool to have Thomas. I have a good manual tire pump which is fine for my push bicycle but hard to pump up my car or motorcycle's tyres. The air pumps at petrol stations are often of poor quality so I might check out an auto shop to get similar to yours.
 
As I type I'm watching a lovely story about "Muster Dogs" in Australia, ABC free streaming.
I love dogs like you Craig and Thomas.
It's about breeding them, training them, and using them so effectively with mustering sheep and cattle. When they get old they get to live out their retirement as house dogs one farmer said. That's lovely.
Also I was very impressed by a very successful Cattle farmer with lots of mustering dogs in the NT, and was, imho, a First Nations Aboriginal lady in about her forties. Wow! That's great! Hats off to her.

My country born neighbours have a gorgeous red cloud kelpie called Noah. Too active for me but he knows me well, always greets me and knows my voice well. My voice can stop him barking at our postie. He's very smart for a dog and loves chasing after a thrown ball.

My own lazy 13yo Chihuahua cross Kelpie is so gentle and loving which is fine by me. He knows when it's his breakfast or dinner time and herds me into the kitchen. Warmed Chunkers, fresh filtered water and some biscuits. My little boy deserves the best, and his daily brush.
I've sort of taught him to dance for his meals and to sit when I deliver his food. That's good fun exercise for him which he enjoys.

Do Dogs smile or is that just us anthropomorphising them like in movies/cartoons with them with human like characteristics. Even talking. I loved Snoopy, Charlie Brown's dog in Peanuts.
Or just a dog's friendly nature learning about us humans for many thousands of years, dogs we humans bred selectively to suit our needs. A synergy in some ways.
Even Wolves play. And Dolphins, Cats, ... not sure about intelligent Octopuses. Some can foresee the future when betting on sporting contests, so I heard! 😯😅
