The Lounge 2

Our cold weather period is over. The lowest temp was -10 in the morning, a little less than predicted. Now back to normal at around zero degrees.

What's being vividly debated is your country's ban on social media for children. Did you learn how that is technically possible? Didn't they tell us that the internet is always accessible no matter what measure may be taken to try and prevent access?

YouTube is the only platform on the internet involved, unless mistaken. Hearing Germany may follow Australias lead Thomas.

META has slammed the ban that has seen half a million under 16s accounts wiped from Facebook, Instagram and Threads since the social media ban came into force in December. Suck eggs META.

Well meaning the Social media ban on under 16's in Australia is full of holes the kids are easily working out. A simple VPN is an easy way around it, and numerous other ways our tech savvy teens know about, more so than me.

The reason I still support it is because of the hurt cyber bullying causes, to the extent of teens committing suicide.
Lots of other dangers too like paedophiles baiting kids.

There was a great article this morning on our ABC website about the World's and Australia's 2025 fires, floods, storms ... with a great collection of "vivid" pictures and easy to read graphs well worth looking at:

Here's the link:

Time lapse but it tells a tale of sparks' tails. It's scary.
