I would be very surpised if he left APW now.

As for players leaving 1 club to go to another, it happens every year. Not saying it is right or wrong, but, players swapping clubs in the same div smells of $$$$$'s. IMO dont rate em as blokes. Would rather have blokes who play 4 the cap!! Or is this becoming a thing of the past??:eek:

If my memory serves me correctly. Glen Jones moved from Flem/Ken to Sunshine United when Flem/Ken were on the slide to Nth.B. At that stage United were in Nth A. Sunshine United won the 2000/01 Nth A premiership and he won the comp medal that year. Instead of then staying with them in Snr A, he opted to play Nth A with APW.

True,though quite sure he wasn't welcome back at United, i was just stating the clubs he'd played with.
Though i would think it would be fair to say that if he left this season, he would look like the biggest fool and i cant see it happening.

Couldnt agree with you more. Blokes that go from club to club for money just bring disharmony with them. I would rather play with a good bloke than a dog. I would also rather play with mates and these blokes going from club to club for money surely cant have any mates (genuine ones).

This is interesting........ blokes that go from club to club !!
That would have to be blokes that have played with 3 or more clubs i'd say..
Who would be the "specialists" at this in the VTCA, all divisions...

I'm going to knock back any offer I get, even if it's double what I get now because I'm not a DOG and I want a genuine mate-just like you...because you'll help with my mortgage, put petrol in my car, and get rid of any debt I may have.

Can you blokes stop bagging the paid players? So what if they chase $$$? I bet you'd like them if they were at your club. If not for them we'd have hacks dominating the competition - They keep the rest of us honest.

Theres a point there. Unfortunately a club couldn't afford me and all my mates, but they'd win if they could.
Problem is we'd be considered DOGS by the under achievers, who would more than likely end up in the 2's or 3's after decades of loyal service to the club they 'love'. SMALL CRICKETER you have obviously been on the recieving end and your stab only highlights your inadequacies as a player. Not to worry, turf all your professionals and run the show yourself. In harmony. I'm sure there's merit in harmoniously losing every week.

There is nothing wrong with getting paid. If your performing well enough your club will reward you.

One thing though, if you are relying on local cricket to pay mortgage and all other bills than mate, you need a job. Your not playing for Australia here.

Whatever theyre getting is ridiculos. We wanted a couple of pros this season and learned they were getting close to 10K each.

Brown - $10k, Yes
Taylor - $10k, Yes
Rutley - $8k, Yes
Porter - $8k, a bit inconsistant but Yes.
Hutchinson - $8k, Yes.

All match winners and close to first picked in their respective teams.

Interesting Javid.

No doubt a consistent match winner is worth it at those prices.

Would have thought there was more cash in the VTCA than that though.

He might be wide outside the off-stump but at least Javid is having a go.

Claims of $40k for Harwood at Melton or Lewis at Coburg would be in fairyland. Shaun Craig got around $20k at Malvern last year - would have thought that was the ceiling for a park cricketer and that a few of the VTCA pros would be short of that but still in the ball park. Maybe Baker, Brown or Taylor might be $15k - $20k? Possibly some others around this mark? No wonder the South struggle - Hampton and South Caulfield couldn't afford $5k for a pro.
