Perhaps Jimmy Leys might make a comeback to umpiring, is a GF specialist. Was officiating the Kratz incident, and apparently started booking random players for trumped up things in a lower grade GF last year.

I played in the 05/06 gf. Both umpires were terrible. Wanted to over officiate, this then caused a fair amount of extra tension. I would have thought that what wnet on during that gf goes on every other week end.

poor old Ivo must be shattered Mick, all that hard work and AN's hopes lie solely with the 3rds.

you can't leave AN, it's pretty obvious that they need you need you down there to bolster the ranks. i mean, if you leave who is going to step into your shoes?

much prefer to be chomping on a few home made solamis than a big mac with fries..

nah they have another bloke down there who gets mobbed by kids each time he goes in to order a mcflurry.

Mick Megne would probably have a better chance at winning a David Caruso look-a-like contest

Thats his specialty. VTCA never actually revealed on the website under what rule the spotty boys were suspended. Suspicions are that it was a new rule introducted specifically for that game, Rule 69d - "Stealing the umpires parking spot prior to commencement of game"

Rule Number 166a - Breaking into umpires rooms and threatening to kill umpires.

Good point Dizz. Assuming you are talking about Central Seconds playing at RPB's home ground. Strange one that. I'm sure the VTCA has some justification that mere players wouldn't be able to comprehend.

yep, seconds, northC1 and 3 are played on the home ground of the team that finished higher.

however, this one is a strange one

in northC2, the final 4 were 1. hoppers, 2. spotswood, 3. RPB and 4. east keilor

east keilor knocked off hoppers, played at east keilor because both hoppers grounds were taken by higher XI's

spotty knocked off RPB at home

so spotty play east keilor at east keilor in the GF... east keilor have been given a home GF even though they finished 4th and spotty finished 2nd. in saying that, full marks to east keilor for knocking off hoppers when it counted the most.

spotty north c3 have a home GF on their bottom ground and the senior division Gf is on the top ground.

spotty north c3 finished on top so you argue they deserve the home ground, however in the semis, it was the higher XI gets home ground preference.

strange

Bentleigh showed their cricket talent again against Airport West St Christophers, as opposed to underhand try to win by foul means skills.
We await the "protest" , surely the covers were improperly used..must surely be the the reason you lost 6 wickets for under 10 runs each, the VTCA must be "spoken to" about this and if the match committee is consistent they would uphold your scheming "protest" and award Bentleigh the match..that's what they did last time you lost six wickets for under ten runs each..
Sunshine Druids have been cheated out of the finals place they rightly deserved on how they played the game of cricket , as opposed to manipulating a grossly mal administered set of half baked rules.

Do you reckon if Sunshine Druids should be angry at anyone, it should be at Brighton Districts for breaking the rules. They are hardly the innocent party in all of this. How about Brightons "home ground" advantage of put the boundary cones out anywhere up to 15m further when the opposition is batting.

Bout time they coped their right whack.
