Your Test World XI?

Re: Your Test World XI?

No Yuvraj Singh for me.

No Malinga also.

Sangakarra also swap with Amla, Amla could hit more runs at 5 than Sangakarra could. Other than that not a bad side at all.

Mallinga is a good bowler , but currently he is not fit .
Yuvraj can bowl a bit so i have included him ..

Clarke can bowl a bit and is by far the better batsman.

Re: Your Test World XI?

My side would be:

1. G. Smith
2. G. Gambhir
3. H. Amla
4. K. Pietersen
5. S. Chanderpaul
6. A.B. de Villiers
7. B. Haddin
8. S. Al Hasan
9. M. Johnson
10. R. Sidebottom
11. D. Steyn

Statistically, over the last year i don't think anyone can argue with this side. If someone can show me otherwise i will be very surprised.

Re: Your Test World XI?

Good to see Haddin.Amla n Pieterson.
Not many have those 3 in their teams(including me)
But Haddin has only really done good in his last 3 test innings.

Who the hell is S.Al Hasan?

Shakib Al Hasan is a left arm spinner from Bangladesh.

Statistically he bowled better than Murali, Vettori, Harbhajan and Kumble in 2008 and therefore deserves a place in the side.

A great player and if he was playing for Australia we would all be going crazy about him. Can bat a bit as well.

Re: Your Test World XI?

I am too lazy to look up Vaas stats but would be interested to see how much he has done?

17 wickets @ 26.88 in 2008. Not amazing figures but i couldn't find anyone with a better average.

I'm going to change my mind though. Johnson has 61 wickets @ 27.29. I must admit i forgot about him.

@jolldo, u have a bad taste in selecting players , what did Haddin did in this yr ??

Averaged more than any other keeper in the world.

What did Dhoni do this year?

Seriously, try and statistically argue any of my players. I don't think you'll be able to.

Sangakkara is the best , ...

Re: Your Test World XI?

I've actually gotta agree with Jolldo.
Statisticallythey are the best players, they aren't necessarily the best players tho.

Yep, that's right.

Most of you guys have picked a World XI which combines recent performances as well as performances over their careers whereas i have picked a World XI solely based on 2008 performances.

So yours is more like your 2008 World Test XI or something?

Re: Your Test World XI?
