Cricket Albury/wodonga

I was in favour of the 4 team finals system as set out by "Got him gone", but when the competition is year was so close for positions
three to six I can see merit in it. When team five beats team two as happened on the weekend teams five and six are just not there making up the numbers. As I see it at the moment ranking would be Easts, Pats, Tallangatta and Wodonga.

Well the Grandfinal Teams have been decided, East Albury will be very hard to beat the only thing I can see going against
them is that their middle and bottom order batsmen have not had much cricket in the middle of late. Having said that
their top order has been very strong. Tallangatta are a bit brittle up top with a strong middle order and the bowling of both
sides is roughly on par. In the District Grand final I think Kiewa has been the best team all year they got a bit of a shake up the
weekend but a hard win is a good win. Good luck to all teams competing on the weedend.

East should win quite easily against Tallangatta, but GFs can produce some funny results once pressure starts to kick in. Was a little suprised to see East smash Wodonga so easily and also thought it strange that Lade didn't bowl more overs for Patties?

Kiewa very, very lucky to be playing this week. No team should lose when they were 0-92 and then 2-120 chashing Kiewas modest 156, but once a couple of wickets start to fall, teams can panick under the pressure. Don't think Kiewa will let things get that close again this week.

Good luck to all teams from all grades and hope that there are some close games!

Very interesting weekend of cricket coming up, interesting to see that East Albury went with none of their 16 year olds. Wonder how Steve Wood will hold up after breaking down on the weekend.
Good luck to all teams playing this weekend

Massive Rumor floating around!
Wodonga Raiders young all-rounder Josh Barrett is reportedly in talks with Kade Brown and the Albury Cricket Club for next season. Barrett played 8 Provincial A grade games this season making 9 runs at an average of 1.8. He bowled 33 overs taking 4 wickets for 111 runs with a best performance of 3/26 against Tallangatta.
He played 5 B-Grade games making 97 runs at an average of 16.17 with a solid last game opening the batting against Belvoir making 64. He bowled 53.1 overs in B-Grade taking 9 wickets at a stike rate of 35.44 with best figures of 4-69.
Reports say the young talent has been texting Kade Brown about a possible signing at Albury next season. It is understood Barrett is also interested in reuniting with former team mate Liam Hocking.
Only time will tell, but will Raiders lose another young player?

Here's a rumour circulating Earache. Kade Brown may not be at Albury next Season.

I heard a whisper about that today, returning to North is the word.

Spent a great weekend at the cricket, & what a grand final it was.
Congratulations Tallangatta well deserved, East the best team all year but fell at the final hurdle.
Weighell is a seriously good cricketer.
The Radio coverage was super, well done 2ay was first class.

Now for the silly season always great fun

I've also heard the Jackson rumour.
As far as a Pomme goes I can't see Raiders going down that path after the failures of the Pomme Experiment with them the last two seasons. As for Farrell that would be a major get if this was true

I have also heard the rumour about Jackson but I don't know what to make of it, there were rumours going round last year and they turn out to be just that rumours. As for Farrell I don't think Robbie and him would mix to well, he is a good cricketer and would be handy pickup for any club. I agree with the Radio call it was as good as I've heard, the boys really got into it. Well done to all involved with broadcast. Also well done to the
Bushies finished in the number 5 position and took home the trophy. After the first couple of months of the season most would have given them no hope, but when a couple of quality players come back it makes a difference.
