Re: DVCA Money Shield

Dear Members,

We are writing to inform that the committee have nominated and voted in unanimously Jason Campbell as president for the Mill Park Cricket Club in season 2009/10.

As a result of Jason's change in position, he resigned in his role as Junior Co-ordinator. We are also therefore writing to congratulate Neil Lyon in his appointment as Junior Co-ordinator. Members will receive correspondence in due course about this decision. We have contacted the coach and he endorses this decision. We believe these decisions are the in best interest of the club. Any further inquiries should be directed to the President. You will find Jason's contact details on the committee page.
Thanks,
the Committee.

Very interesting. They obviously do things different at Mill Park. I'm tipping if my committee made a decision of that magnitude without consulting the members and life members they would be strung up by their knackers.
Have heard that Brett Thomas has retired?
Things definately happening at MP.

A lot of members very disappointed with handling and yes there has been a large exodus of players but will battle on. Not high expectations for this season though.

I appreciate that you will be recruiting heavily in trying to replace these players but probably not the smartest move your club made by trying to recruit a "Dyson" frm Bundoora. I think still being in the family will is more important than playing cricket at another club!!!!

Based on what I have seen at training I think there will be a lot of pressure on the younger members to have to step up and fills spots in 1sts and 2nds this year as I am yet to see any new faces. I am hoping that someone is trying to recruit as it could be a long year otherwise. And definitely agree not the smartest move!!!

The only problem there is that there are 25,000 Dyson's going to inherit the fortress and the number is on the rise! lol

Obliviously Mill Park saw a player that they could attract too their club, I would say that every club would have tried to obtain a player from another club, you never know until you ask!

I agree, but sometimes there are family dynasties within certain clubs that should be let be. The Dysons' are and have been the face of Bundoora for many decades, and have probably shaped that club in some way, shape or form to what it is today.... The biggest gambling club in the Southern Hemisphere!

Only joking. Bundoora is a fantastic club.

Cold case having played Lower plenty why did they go down, in your opinion can they come back up this year seeing that there is quite a few good teams in Money this year.

1. 700 runs from Conlan Gunn. Huge hole to cover and Lower could'nt, even with the services of Arnberger.
2. Lower have a pedestrian attack especially after the first 90 minutes
3. After a few consecutive but near losses the confidence was low.
4. Not well endowed yet with huge number of leadership qualities.
5. Lowers' oval is unique in size and doesn't seem to agree collectively with the team.
6. Barnett didn't have the greatest season

Thats a couple of aspects that IMO can all be ironed out

1. Realisation of the loss of their premier bat.
2. Arnberger if he is playing will cash in only if he wants to.
3. Bowlers must hit the pitch harder and put it in the right spots more often.
4. If you haven't got a good enough spinner , don't play him!
5. All the younger brigade are a year older and hopefully 1 or 2 will bring some leadership to the table and give Zeraf a chop out.
7. Bring the field in 5 metres. Too often Lower give the opposition to much space beause it is such a wide ground square of the wicket
8. The challenge is there. Redemption is paramount.

IMO Lower top 3.

you could ask yourself the same question :p

I rang Marsh today at work and he obviously seen my number then ended the call. He reckons I'm stupid. He obviously knew I wanted him to do something.:rolleyes:
Maybe he's right!

Mont have been very reliant on Pendles, Whale and Troy. All at or nearing the end of fantastic careers. The whole Monty team in 06/07 looked tired and it showed in their performances. Next season with the loss of Whale & Pendles for most of it minus Cavigan were always going to be under the pump. They did happen to smack our bums, but were found wanting with young kids and probably perennial 2's players filling the side.
A long way back for Mont but a great Cricket club and hopeully they can fight back.
Lower is probably still capable of beating the top Barclay teams on their day, and should breeze through to the finals in Money Shield. It all depends on how they approach the challenge this year. Yes they are in better shape than their neighbors but by no means are they shoe ins.
