Eca 2011/2012

.
You might have taken away 3 points from this game but it's a long season of 2 day cricket a head and you will learn
that 6 points not 3 go a long way.
I might sound a bit sour, but todays cricket from Marcellin was SHITE ! Grow some gonads or go back to A grade.

Anyone remember the exchange re Bulleen v Marcellin game earlier this year that ended in a draw - I think Bouncer's words may have bitten him somewhat.....those 3 points kept them up and sent Bulleen down!

funny that one, my guess is bouncer bowls slow mediums first name S second name M - will be better suited to A turf standard.

You have really narrowed it down!

Is this what this week will entail? Rummaging through old posts to rub salt in open wounds or even a few "I told you so's"

If that is the flavour of the week, I will repost my ladder which I did in late Jan and unfortunately was not too close, but had Bulleen, Richmond, Marcellin, Mulgrave, East Donny, Ashy spot on, not bad

1 Hawthorn
2 St Kevins
3 Deepdene
4 Ashburton
5 Boronia
6 Glen Iris
7 East Doncaster
8 Mont Albert
9 Mulgrave
10 Marcellin
11 Bulleen
12 Richmond City

For what its worth (hopefully worth a little more than someone who picks the results on the basis of how they feel personally PBL69)

GI (just) in a tight one. Will go down to wire.
Ashy, hardened side who love the big stage. But another cracking game.

Good luck to all sides.

Can probably include XXXX in that! Seems very bitter and twisted and likes to get personal about things!!!

Who will make the team of the year? Have added the leading run getter/wicket taker for each club (may not be leading the averages though) - could find all except Bulleen.
Deepdene - Parsons 500@50 Dino 25@13 (plenty of others too)
Glen Iris - Armstrong 420@38 Stafford 18@34
St Kevins - Davis 270@27 Mullen 21@16 (how did they make finals with this batting average)
Ashburton - Cox 40@50 Swift 25@16 (plus a few others)
Hawthorn - Tongue 500@62 Tongue 19@19 (Tongue - great year)
Mont Albert - Baker 360@45 Lilley 37@11 (Lilley - great year)
East Donny - Crawley 350@35 Friggi 12@18
Boronia - Suckling 230@46 Bowen 24@15
Mulgrave - Day.D 220@22 Morris 27@14 (did well to stay up if 22 best bat)
Marcellin - Black 400@50 Dinneen 15@10 (Dinneen half year)
Bulleen - tba
Richmond City - Gilbee 320@35 Anderson 12@21

Glen Iris and Ashburton to win and go through to Grand Final

In A Grade North Balwyn and Surrey Park to win and go through to Grand Final.

How is it GI team is the leading wicket taker this season yet its most prolific wicket taker has only 18 wickets for the season. I have not been a fan of their bowling attack all season but I must have got it wrong. Appologies. They do not rely on one bowler but share it around to get the job done. Given their ability to get wickets by doting it up, and their batting line up which runs deep they are my tip for the premership.

GI will probably only get one player in the team of the year (Armstrong WK) with none of their specialist bowlers or batters to get a gurnsey. Intersting for a team finishing second and with real premership chances. They must be using smoke and mirrors.

I think it just shows they are a good all round team, as you will see last week against Ashburton, their 2 best bowlers for the year, Jamieson & Stafford only got 1 wicket each. They just share the load and get the job done, rather than relying on one or two to get them across the line, such as Hawthorn

Will be a deepdene, GI final.
In A turf it will be a Heathmont, Burwood final
You on drugs??? Heathmont are older than Bulleen in squad age, and after looking at their stats Burwood really only have 1 bat and 1 or 2 bowlers at best, and their big gun was rubbed out by the good old ECA tribunal!
