Eca 2011/2012

I've been following all of our BC posters closely and think Ashburton Willows and Glen Iris will be a cracking grand final with the Willow's experience giving them the edge.

Yeah true. There is no deepdene semi final bashing though. They could of choked last week after being 3-25 overnight
Maybe all the Deepdene blokes are already satisfied with a grand final appearance?

Looks like the rain may interfere this weekend, maybe they should just put it back to Saturday Sunday next week

Who won the tipping comp? Oh wait it was me. How is your buddy slack going?

Ahh Bobby Tomkins, spoken like a true under achiever hanging your hat on winning a tipping comp with nothing riding on it. Finals are the benchmark, and for 22 of us, the season lives on for another couple of weeks. You started your pre-season yet?

Yeah you are not even playing pal so let the 22 who are playing focus on the GF. I know the tipping comp had nothing in it except bragging rights!

Did anyone go today to the Dunstan game? What happened?

Called in for an hour or so. Game was delayed for hour and a half due to wet runups at southern end, started late after mats put down on the wet patches. SKevs won toss and batted on usual Donvale road. Deepdene got 4 early wickets for 40 odd (Fernon, Crawford, Davis and Baker), but Skevs must have had a couple of decent partnerships later to get to 5/137 off 65. 15 overs to go next week

Pretty even at the moment you'd reckon

Bloody mycricket takes an eternity for showing results....Thanks sheer pace but any more info on first days play? Who scored what, wickets, how did the deck look? Any info would be appreciated as very interested but couldnt get there....

As I said, only was there for a short time and from memory scores for dismissed batsmen were
Fernon 1
Davis 0
Crawford 0
Baker 11

Wilkinson and McBride were not out when I left, presumably one or both of these must have got a few, Parsons had a couple of these early wickets for not many but apparently got injured and could not bowl after a handful of overs, Gartner had one other. Deck looked hard and dry but did not get out there to look.....

Anyone have comments on A Turf ? Looks like surrey made a fatal error at the toss .

Also how can the ECA not have a progress update on their website in the results section on premier game of the season - the Dunstan shield final ? makes them look even more amateurs than they already are

The Deepdene Bears are currently enjoying several XXXX's to celebrate their 1's and 2's premiership wins. Not bad for a club of chokers. We are now in the off season. A word of advice for next season XXXX, try to focus more on the positives rather than the negatives. As you've seen this season, more often than not you'll be made to look a fool. Go The Bears!

Called in at Dunstan for a couple of hours - Deepdene comfortable winners - Parsons man of match, pretty fair end of season 3 x 100 and a 90 RO in the last 5 games...probably a fair reflection of the season ,top team premiers in Dunstan

Amazing what money can buy! Still, a great year to have 1st and 2nd XI teams win a flag and some great individual performances. Well done.
