Northern Metropolitan Cricket Association (Jika)

what grade will west heidelberg be in?

The 2 banks (Rose & View) are in A grade and the other 4 are in B grade, but in staying that, it is being called a grading year as there are 10 in A grade and 2 B grades. After the season has finished, all grades will go back to 8 sides per grade, so ladder positions will be vital, more so than ever....

in all honesty kennel none of them inc green are worth chasing, they are all inconsistent in their approach, we all know the talent levels they have. strange thing is, if they are keen to play cricket, why not keep the club going.

hard to see rosebank bothering with these guys and pretty sure john green wont end up at baseballers, didnt he have a fallout down there already, from what we hear of millpark, maybe he is suited there..and the others? who was left?
Green would get a game in any suburban cricket club , so to say he is not worth chasing is silly ....And if you are saying he is inconsistent in his approach , i take you have never met the bloke.

has there been any reports on where Green/Harvey may be playing this season?

Kennel, We'd take John Green any day of the week. Can we get him under the Father and son rule? Anyway he started with us when he was about 14 before he went to Carlton. He's a good Cricketer.

pepper get off our site and keep making a fool of yourself on the illistrious DVCA site.
We are tyring to build a strong comp, we don't want your sort of rubbish on here, so piddle off.

no need to be like that jikaone & I don't believe I'm making a fool of myself.
you should know that an email gets sent to you when someone posts on a thread that you read.
all i'm stating is that i received an email stating northmetroboy had posted & when i went on the thread 5 minutes later, the post had been taken off.
i still have the email which states what was posted

Fess up. What was posted??? In round about terms if need be....

Jikaone, I dislike the DVCA elitists also, but we don't need to act like them. If Pepper has something to say, let him, so long as he doesn't start spinning crap like sanna2b2. Who knows, they may realise the grass isn't so green and choose to look else where down the track....

Now Pepper, be very careful because if what you speculate or your post isn't true and correct you and the adminstrator might have some legal problems.

very interesting however i'm not speculating nor would my post be incorrect as i have it as quoted.
in reference to legal problems i'll leave it at that as that is probably why the original post was deleted!

The only way 2 no if ppl r telling porkies will be when the clearences open & ppls names start going through 2 their chosen respective clubs.. liking the idea of 2 B grades.. but who actually has a chance at making the top 4 in both grades & who r the early favourites 2 get in 2 A grade

What I would like to say is this, I am really annoyed, to say the least of how we have been
treated by the other two comps. They think we are second rate and scum bags, their words
not mine. I would like us to really bunker down for the next 5 years and develop the comp
to the best comp in the metro area. If, with the new teams coming and what we have already
got, I think we can make this a reality. We need to stick together, respect each other and show
them it's us that will stand alone on our terms and not be swallowed up by a "Supercomp" or whatever they want to call it.
I can tell you that the HDCA merger didn't happen because 4 "Super Clubs" didn't want to play against us.
They prefered to shut the comp down then play against us, I don't know about you , but that's are real
kick in the face to us. So I say, STAND ALONE, STICK TOGETHER and have nothing to do with these arrogant ......

Thanks for listening.

One of those clubs that start with R was one of the reasons we came to Jika in the first place, in one game I remember senior players from R calling our juniors housing commission scum. I think you get the idea.
The only difference between DVCA and North Metro is those clubs come from affluent areas and are cashed up.
They live in a little fantasy land that they are the best comp. in the North , its only because of money.

As someone who started his cricketing life with Olympic Youth Cricket Club (now Colts) grew up and still lives in the area, get the chip off your shoulders!! I have played in the ECA and now the DVCA for the past 20 years and it may surprise you that there is a large amount of people that are involved in my (affluent club), that were born and bred in the housing commission scum that seems to weigh you down so much. Like most sports, cricket is a great leveller and it pisses me off when I here people whinge and moan about trivial shit like name calling and use it as an excuse. Now more importantly, when are the powers that are, going to commemorate the history and players of the past. Olympic YCC was a great club to grow up in and I have always wondered why over all the years there has never been anything done to make contact with those from the past. Some truly excellent cricketers of the past HDCA days. (not me included);)

Brutal, do you want a medal. I wasn't moaning about anything just stating one of the reasons why we left the HDCA. And as far as a reunion goes we'd love one. Unfortunately it was all the OCYC players that left the club and saw us drop to B grade in the 90's.
No chips on my shoulders buddy. If your such a great West Heidelberg and want to support your old club you know where we are put your head in the door. When all the OYCC left the club we kept it going without your help and are back in A Grade again.
By all means come on down and jump on the bandwagon. You'll always be welcome.
