Understand this is the same squad for the Caribbean tour. Gotta say this is typical 'jobs for the old boys' policy from Mac and George going with 35, 31 yr olds as reserve bowlers. Would also have been an ideal time to blood a young bowler, someone like in form Fergus O'Neil or a fit Lance Morris even all rounder Aaron Hardie.

Baffled why no release of 25/26 state contracts given final selections were supposed to be given to CA by end of April.
One guy that wont be on the Blues roster is bowling all rounder Hanno Jacobs who has returned to his pathways home SA on a three year deal. Blues also losing Dan Hughes and Henriques to retirement. Gotta say not before time for the latter. I see my home state struggling again unless they promote some junior talent. I will also be supporting both WA and Tassie.

I am watching his f/i century at the moment. Have always maintained that it takes extra time for an all rounder to mature, to hone both disciplines. Green is now doing that nicely and I see him lifting himself to another level over the next 12 months.
During this county stint he’s made a noticeable technical change.
In his first game (also against Kent), we was setting up with the middle of his back foot on off stump and his front foot on middle and leg.
This time around he seems to have adopted a much more traditional stance with his back foot toes on off stump and his front foot on middle stump.
He looks so much more upright and compact, looks way more solid in defence. Reminds me of how he used to bat when he was making runs for fun in the shield, just far more refined.
There’s also some VERY authoritative shots through cover in that 100 lol.
None better than that classic on drive in his first over. As good as it gets.
With this off stump stance notice bowlers are targeting his leg stump, so he should be whipping those into the on side instead of trying to get behind the line which had him looking a touch squared up. Something he needs to work on.

I like Labuschagne more for using up the new ball, Konstas clearly has talent but he gets squared up and looks like he’ll be bowled through the gate every 2nd ball. Labs for WTC Final and Konstas for the West Indies series.
Personally I’d prefer Green at 4 and Smith at 3, yes Smith has found some form at 4, but I genuinely think an inform Smith can bat wherever and make runs. He also averages 67 at 3. Green looks so well suited to grinding out massive scores at 4 it’s not even funny.
Also can’t drop Webster because Green can’t bowl and we should play Hazlewood (who is a better bowler than Boland), but he could break down going off recent games.

I do find it interesting because he’s probably less likely to get out getting behind it but won’t score as much as he would trying to work it down leg. Although he did flick some through mid wicket so it might just be a matter of getting his eye in before he tries to hit them too hard.
Think you mean Wyllie. Never seen Konstas squared up unless he gets a late mover and most batsmen look uncomfortable then.
He is in sad form and most under pressure. Tests an abysmal @14 last 12 mths, cant buy a run for Glamorgan in County. You can not give someone in such bad form the responsibility to see off the new ball. And Green, coming off his third and second on trot County ton, must play.
