I heard about a hundred Police officers and detectives are actively checking homes and gathering information, especially from those that knew Freeman. Also to see if Dezi Freeman has anyone helping or harbouring him.

Might the Police be using searching dogs and trackers with good local knowledge. The dogs could be given his scent from his home like laundry, sheets, ... ?

All those Mine shafts might be hard to find and dangerous to explore, especially if Dezi is holed up in one. Caves too.

I just read the Police are indeed using their search dogs.

Thats a better bet. If Freeman had the sense, he'd have picked a hiding place near a creek or better still a river that the dogs have to cross to reach him, thus negating his scent. Then again the cops could twig to that and concentrate their search near a waterway.
