The BaggyGreens Thread

Pommies will be licking their lips with neither Cummins or Hazlewood to contend with First Test. The skippers pace on debateably our fastest deck will be specially missed.

Two days out from the Ashes and still no idea of our starting X1.

This is mine.
Khawaja
Weatherald
Labuchagne
Smith
Head
Green
Carey
Starc
Lyon
Doggett
Boland.

Webster, Inglis and Neser the unlucky ones.
That is a skilless batting tail. Prob three #11s.

Finally the X1 for First Test is official.

Usman Khawaja, Jake Weatherald, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith (capt), Travis Head, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland, Brendan Doggett.

Jake Weatherald opening is our best bet to put pressure back onto their strike pair of Woods and Archer. Pup Clarke calls him fearless.

A combination of four guys hitting speeds of about 145 clicks with a lively surface is making batting extremely hard for the Aussies. In comparison we have only Starc that can reach that kinda speed..

Nice debut by this Weatherald zero, nada, zilch, naught I could have got that score myself at my old age right now!

Our best express bowler Lance Morris would have played this series had he not still been recovering from back surgery. We sure needed him yesterday to ruffle some Pommie feathers. Am told he is close to a return.
