The longer Trump keeps the SOH closed the more global fuel pain, but he does not give a crap as the Yanks have ample reserves, additionally the richer his buddy Putin becomes to rebuild his war chest and offer more young Russian men as Ukranian cannon fodder. China will not, however, be happy over the huge hit to her economy from the oil Trump is stopping to power its refineries. This may wake the Commie sleeping giant from its reluctance to wage war. Is this power running the Free World even aware that it is 'poking the Bear', or is it Trumps idea to do just that so these two super powers can finally decide who is the biggest kid on the block?
The one positive out of this mess is it is hurting the Iranian economy to the tune of est. $50b since the conflict began, which could induce a now majority disgruntled population to rise up against a degraded Revolutionary Guard led regime.

Well said Craig.
Trump's disapproval rating is about 62% last time I heard. Come the mid terms in November it's expected to be carnage for the Republicans losing control of Congress.
Funnily Trump's gerymandering shenanigans may well backfire on him spectacularly. Having trimmed off the fat of Republican loaded Texas districts, the electoral boundaries were changed adding more Republican voters to some tenuous Democratic held districts. Overall spreading the loyal COPs to win, win, win, .... but, and a big but, given the forthcoming Midterms with the Predicted Big Beautiful swing to the DEM's, Trump's connived districts' margins would be swallowed by a big shift in voting overall, and see Dems take even once Red Seats. That's Karma.

That's as best as I explain it. I listened to a great podcast on that analysis. I think it was from ABC News.

As an aside, I try not to listen to what comes out of Trump's mouth anymore and think many others feel similar. Even Global markets.

I mute him mate whenever he comes on my screen because he changes his rhetoric as often as the weather. Yesterday he was gonna blast Iran into another universe, today the offensive side of this war has ended and the US will only be using defensive tactics, whatever that means. Probably continuing to only aid shipping thru Hormuz. Tomorrow who knows?

Not tomorrow Craig, It's Saturday for the Yanks too.
Trump's observed pattern is that after a relaxing weekend he's at his grumpyist on Mondays! I get that, I hated Mondays too.
Who knows indeed what Trump's tomorrow may be, Craig.
I'm hearing some say that Iran is much more adept in the propaganda war scene and play with Trump, especially saying Trump's words are mostly lies .. which is .. True.
Yes, but the Iranians are smart people so rather than go through diplomatic channels they've got big social media channels like with rappers on UTube. Seriously!
I bet Trump wishes he could turn back time, even to 2016 when he ripped up Obama's hard worked for comprehensive Nuclear Power rules and checks with Iran.
Why? Just old fashioned spite.

In response to a reporters' fair question he bellows
"Are you a stupid Low IQ person!?" ..?
The pretty young reporter replied,
"Yes Mr President, we have that in common." 🤣

Nice to see the considered approach from the Europen nations happy to talk to Iran like adults. Not like a belligerent man-child who uses threats almost exclusively and is unpredictable and untrustworthy as Iran paints him...
A poor negotionator who sorely underestimated Iran.

I'm glad to see our Australia keeping its distance with appropriate deference to the great and long standing ties between Australia and the US. Our King Charles in England did likewise for the UK. 👍 The tacky diplomatic approach.
It still didn't help Qatar even tho they gave him a luxury Jet.

Just heard many Arab and European nations are now refusing the US to use their airports or even to fly through their air space. Crikey, This is an interesting turn of events.

And a rebirthed Nato without the US might be considered.
I guess it would still include Canada and a change of name and a new acronym.
Similar moves are afoot around Oz, and Pacific and Indian Ocean neighbours. Nice to see ties strengthen with Japan.

With the Midterms approaching, time's running out for Orange Man. He's visibly getting nervous and impatient and hesitant at the same time since he has no real plan for how he could get out of this mess while Iran is leaning back. Orange Man once said to Selenski:" You don't have the cards". What cards does OM have right now?

Is that a true story. Does the pretty reporter still have a job as he hates having his his massive ego tarnished 😜

No, I jokingly embellished an encounter, the way I'd love to see it go. Trump does often call others Low IQ people, even to their faces.

Trump held up a fistful of Uno cards not knowing the winner of Uno is who loses all their cards first!

This stupidity gets my goat:

Climate ‘mothership’ fights back in court
One of the leading climate-science institutions in the world — the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado — is fighting for its life in a US courtroom. The universities that manage the research centre are suing the administration of President Donald Trump, which has said that it will dismantle NCAR because it is a source of “climate alarmism”. At the heart of the case is whether the US National Science Foundation is moving too quickly and without authority to hand off pieces of NCAR — including a supercomputing centre in Wyoming — to public and private institutions. Whatever the ruling, the broader battle over the future of NCAR — including its aeroplane fleet, space-weather studies and climate-modelling teams — will probably continue to play out.

Good!

Every pic I see of Trump and Xi shows Trump wearing almost a scowl or at the most a look of indifference, rarely looking face to face with the Commie leader. Even their first hand shake clearly had Trump holding back to Xis outstretched arm and a welcoming smile. Then again the Chinese are famous for wearing too faces.

As an asx investor Labor has basically doubled the amount of tax that I have to pay because they can't controlled spending.

Trying to pretend it's about "intergenerational inequality" and fixing the housing market.

Scum

Good to see you back Kram81 Kram81 .
This will rile Terry but Labor seems to think that it is their god given right to spend tax payers money as if it was their own personal wealth. It is a known fact that Labor are notoriously poor economic managers, you only have to look at the state of our economy after one has been in government, federal or state..

I do ok and have done very well investing but I'm hard 'rich' either which is the narrative that they push.

I mean I work as a gardener ffs.

Eleven Australians onboard aid flotilla bound fo Gaza are intercepted by Israel

This is illegal piracy in international waters. Cant someone stop this genocidal Zionist regime once and for all.
Israel has little regard for international rules and they must be judged by their actions and not by their slippery words.
'What genocide!" they lie. They're even attacking a small Christian community within Israel. "All our Land" chanted.
There's talk Israel coaxed USADTrump into this madness waging war with Iran despite all its global negative consequences, ignoring wise advice offered ... but listened to his mate War Criminal Netanyahu instead.
Consequences kicking the global economy into higher inflation, even the possibility of a global recession ... more wars ... look out Cuba, you're next.
Soaring oil prices, a yoyo stock market affected by blithering words from the US lowest IQ Potty Master 🍊

We're the lucky country, but it's still hurting us. Those very high fuel costs flow into many parts of our economy pushing up prices and inflation chashed by wages... all over the 🌎 world. World economies are so interconnected nowadays.

Added to that, homes are mostly beyond the reach of so many, concerningly young people and families ... another vital issue needing attention. We'll see how that attention goes..

So it is a prudent move to tighten the public purse, and painfully that affects most of us, myself included.

Financial rules are being tweaked and I'd much prefer to see an export tax on gas exports, and tax other Big Company Free Riders with dodgy practices and tax havens....
Discretionary trusts, capital gains tax .... !

I suspect Labor took this current financial crisis to do what they've been yearning for, for decades.
Broken promises, but in an unstable world.

I've got friends and family with investment properties and losing negative gearing except for new builds and sunset clauses for properties already negatively geared. ... has them concerned.
That's meant to encourage more newly built homes allowed to be negatively geared but not for purchase of already established homes. 🤞

All kicked off by a low IQ Sadistic Meglomanic Narcissist pushing down hard on Iran ... killing thousands of the Persians he promised to save, even now about to destroy Civillian infrastructure, ...

So why did Trump dump the detailed Nuclear Inspections of Iran's Nuclear facilities that took careful diplomatic discussions years to achieve in 2016?
Simple, pure spite towards Obama who secured the deal.

All this turmoil from a Trump tantrum.
