Where has my swing gone ?

Thank you all for your responses. I actually managed to get my swing back. It did seem to be the position of my wrist. I found that when I concentrated on my wrist position as well as "flicking" my wrist on release my swing came back. The pitches we played on this year were rather terrible...

Where has my swing gone ?

Hey all, I've been playing Club cricket for about 5 years now. I've always been a big swinger of the ball and bowl medium/fast. I open the bowling with the new ball and my natural action was has always allowed my to bowl outswing to right handers/in-swing to left handers. However, this year I...

    seam movement?

Re: seam movement? I generally bat way out of my crease to a good swing bowler, it puts them off their length

    Mixing it Up

Re: Mixing it Up You can consistently put the ball in the wrong place and that will not help build pressure :D What you want to do is keep the batsmen guessing. If i find a batsmen is going after me, i throw in a bouncer or two, maybe a slower ball or two, try to put him off his timing. My...

Sometimes i miss the fast ball

Re: Sometimes i miss the fast ball What's your backlift like? After reading some advice on here, having my backlift ready before the ball was bowled has helped me with the faster deliveries

    I have no confidence

Re: I have no confidence Hi trescho, I had the same problem last year, I was amazing in the nets and struggled in the middle. It is definately a mind thing, but it's a positive as well as it shows you value your wicket and generally are very competitive. I found i batted very well when there...

Should I go back to cricket?

Re: Should I go back to cricket? I don't think you should be making the decision based on whether or not you'd make the first XI. You should generally play sport for the enjoyment it gives you. We would all love to be playing for our nation, but for most of us that isn't a reality, doesn't...

Should I go back to cricket?

Re: Should I go back to cricket? I'd suggest you do the one which you enjoy most, you will struggle to be any good at something you dont enjoy

    Formula 1

Re: Forumula 1 of course they changed something, they all had some improvements made to the car that weekend. The Renault looked alot better, even though it managed to blow itself up

    Formula 1

Re: Forumula 1 They all released something, but Ferrari were in a class of their own. As with every year though, there will be some misfortune, that's what I love about F1. Up to now though, the Ferrari has been looking reliable.

    Turning down singles

Re: Turning down singles I'd personally take the run. It's the winning run, so you're not protecting the other batsmen. Although highly unlikely, he allowed the possibility to lose 4 wickets and tie the game.

    Formula 1

Re: Forumula 1 The Iceman is looking good :D I wouldn't count Hamilton out just yet, but if the Ferrari stays reliable then Kimi should breeze home Renault looked alot better, they made some good improvements. I'd love for the Renault to become more competitive and have Alonso, Hamilton and...

    trouble batting

Re: trouble batting Could be just you, but it simply reminds me to keep my eye on the ball and distracts me from feeling nervous. I generally stop doing it once i'm comfortable and the nerves have subsided. Worth a try, may work for some people than can multi-task lol
