Sangakkara should be back as wicket-keeper pretty soon. Prasanna Jayawardene only kept in the game because Sangakkara was coming back from a hamstring injury. Having to keep for 100-odd overs wouldn't be ideal on return and would risk re-injuring the leg.

I would be surprised if Sangakkara isn't back to keeping when they play England in their upcoming home series.

Ridiculous argument. Are you saying that Rudi Koertzen is now a racist?

I'm not stating that he is a racist just that i believe Australia always get a majority of the good descisions. Umpires certainly seem to be somewhat "overwhelmed" by umpiring the Aussies and u tend to c descisions going there way. I'm pretty sure that had that been a Hussey or Jacques at the crease they would have found themselves with the benefit of the doubt.

This sure is a bitter pill to swallow. I hope Koertzen has problem sleeping at night, at least for a week. After the disastrous role he played in the ODI World Cup final farce (not being sure if the final should've been called off or continue batting in the dark), my opinion of him had already gone low.

What can you do to rectify mess like this? Do we want to bring in video review for more and more plays? I watched the Rugby Union World Cup and IRB took video review to an absurd extreme. Even when it would be crystal clear that a try had been scored, they sometimes used to go for review and slow down the match.

Kumar could've just stood his ground even after given out and incurred the wrath of ICC and maybe some fine. The other day, same thing happened to Yuvraj in India. The situation was exactly like what happened to Kumar. The ball did not hit bat or glove, instead hit Yuvraj's shoulder. Indian referee Suresh Shastri incredulously gave Yuvraj out. Yuvraj got angry and simply stood his ground.

Obviously, you can't claim racism in that case since it was an India vs. Pakistan match and both Yuvraj, Suresh Shastri are Indian. The fact that this has happened in 2 different parts of the world in the span of 2-3 days to 2 guys tells me something has got to be done to prevent it.

He is South African . . Nah just jokes. I always though that Koertzen was one of the best umpires around, everyone makes the odd mistake.

I swear some of the Australians appeal like mad on things they have no idea whether or not it is out.

That would be terrible sportsmanship, as horrendous decision as it was he had to just cop it on the chin. He has a right to feel hard done by but you can't carry on like a brat.

Most of it is just luck. No umpire is 100% correct all of the time, humans are not perfect.

If you honestly think that an umpire would give someone the benefit of the doubt because of their race, skin colour or the team they play for then perhaps they shouldn't be umpiring.

As an australian fan, i am bitterly disappointed at that umpiring decision. I was happy to see sri lanka do so well and would have been very happy for them if they won. This decision puts a dent in the victory.

Lets face it though, without macgilla's poor bowling, the game wouldnt have been this close.
