Re: AFL - Round 2

Umpiring was absolutely teeeeeeeerrible yesterday. It was shocking both ways, Richmond ended up getting more decisions that were poor but both sides copped a few. Just a bad day out for the men in green.

Re: AFL - Round 2

The rules have gone beyond a joke now. It is totally ridiculous. The AFL have turned the game into bloody netball with the constant rules changes. They are taking away contact from the game with each change and they are making the game too fast, killing contested football slowly. It is a joke.

I went to a WAFL game yesterday and watched West Perth take on my mob, Subiaco. The amount of soft frees given to both sides was a disgrace. Subiaco got quite a few soft frees in the last quarter and while we won the game I am still not happy with these ridiculous free kicks being given out. You can't do anything without giving away a free kick to the opposition, it is ludicrous and the AFL are getting rid of the contact within the game in order to make the game faster. It is stupid.

10 years ago, you could a truckload of stuff and not be penalized but now you can't even touch a players arm in a marking contest without giving away a free kick, it's crap.

And these rules are making the umpires job a lot harder. While their are some poor decisions made by umpires, the rules they have to interpret are just as bad. Change the rules back.

In reply to your rant, the rules can't be changed back because of what the players are able to do.
The funny thing is you don't have a clue what is going on out there. You don't even umpire the game let alone know any of the rules. I can tell by your excuses that you are giving.
You're lucky that you have got somebody here who is willing to help you out with the rules. I have got a link that I want you to have a read. That way you can study all the rules and see what it is that's frustrating you so much. Trust me after reading them you will be blaming the footy team that you follow more than the umpires.

The umpires are only doing what is asked of them.

Reading this and absolute LMAO.

He was actually bagging the rules more than the team, if the AFL got their head's out of the money pit's, they might see the serious change that has undertaken AFL, and is threatening to take away all that is good about the game ..

P.S. The link does not work.

No, the funny thing is, is that you have absolutely no idea what you are going on about.

Did you even read my post at all?

I you had of read it properly, you would have realised that I was bagging the AFL and its constant rule tampering rather than the umpires who officiate the game.

And you would have seen this last paragraph which I stated in my original post,

I have followed football my entire life, I know the rules and I think I speak for many people when I say that the AFL is making the game look soft because it keeps changing the rules on a constant basis.

Where have I blamed the umpires in my original post? Sure, they make some errors but where have I stated it is the umpires fault for the ******** rules we have in place?

Suzi, you have totally misinterpreted what I have said. Perhaps your post would have some merit if my primary point was questioning the umpiring and the job that the umpires do, but it isn't. I am focusing on the AFL's role in the changing our our game.

pidgeon fan said:

Which is what I have said in my other post. The rules are hard to interpret now and their jobs are made even more difficult by the fact that the AFL has changed and added so many rules, some of which are downright ridiculous.

Also, poor form of you to give me negative rep for my previous post, Suzi. It shows how much bias you have on situation. Very disappointing.

The reason why I have given you neg rep is because of your lack of knowledge of the rules and the use of poor excuses to cover it up with. You don't see me blaming the umpires for doing their job.
Grow up right now and learn to live with the rule changes.

Re: AFL - Round 2

Don't go having a go at me. After all I have been umpiring a lot longer than you have and have seen the excuses fly around all the time. So Grow up and leave me alone.
It is time that you learnt all the rules and grew up and got over the umpiring.
It is also time that you stopped all your whinging about what the umpires do all the time. It is annoying.
Oh and thanks for the neg rep will, I didn't need that. You are all fools. What is this. Do you have to always complain about the umpires when they are only doing their job?
|@
After 13 years of umpiring I know who's right and who is wrong. Most of you don't have a clue about the rules. It is about time that you guys had a good hard look at yourselves in the mirror and stopped whinging. You know nothing.
So. Stop. Abusing. The. Umpires.
I have just about had it up to my head with all your ********ty excuses. "Oh the umpire did this or paid that" "Hey that's not right"
"Hey that's not hands in the back"
You are all tools who don't know the rules. Luckily I don't spend all of my time whinging about the umpires. I used to though but ever since joining up with an umpiring group. It's stupid to go about and having a go at the umpires.
Sure you don't like the rules. Guess what if we didn't have rules the game wouldn't be around and be as popular as it is today.
So shut the f up about the rules and the umpiring.
I will tell you this if you guys continue on with this the whole lot of you will be getting neg repped. It will teach you a lesson.
