APS Squad - Your Final Team

Re: APS Squad - Your Final Team

Oaten (can open batting bowl 1st change)
O'Keefe (solid bat who will hang around with players who score runs easily around him)
Tormey (can bat and mediums are hard to get away)
Hutton (VC) (solid technique, hasnt taken many wickets but hard to score off)
Wolfe (C) (can bat and can bowl maybe a weird choice but done well all year)
Forbes (good bowler hits the bat hard and can bat himself good player)
Hartnell (best keeper iv seen all year)
Gelling (stats speak for themselves can hit the ball big when he wants to as well)
Smith (good quality spinner who can handle a bat)
Slade (add some variety to the attack left armers lots of wickets as well)
Parisi (lots of wickets and hard to get away)

feel free to make changes or comment

Well if you pull out Cosgrave that makes room for Gelling so thats probably a good move.

Yeah but can u find a spinner who has taken more wickets than cosgrave 29 wickets at about 10. Batting average of bout 25 nb for a number 10. Agreeed that Gelling needs to be in but Cosgrave has had a darn good year to miss out.

Re: APS Squad - Your Final Team

Why hasn't anyone put Tom Lynch in their best side. Even though no one likes him his stats don't lie. He has got over 30 wickets and around 250 runs including three ducks in a row

Injured apparently.

Re: APS Squad - Your Final Team

Chris Smith was the only bowler to withstand a barrage from scotch and his the figures to back up a very good year. Anyone else think he will be stiff to miss.

Any representatives from the minnows? i.e. skevs, GGC, BGS etc

Smith 2/94 form 16
Cosgrave 2/50 from 14 had 12 form his last
Bergin 2/ 40 odd

So to say his was the only bowler to withstand scoth's barrage is just silly both him and cosgrave bowled wothout luck having catched dropped left right and centre. HAving said that smith would be a very handy member having made runs to go with his 20 wickets

Re: APS Squad - Your Final Team

yea smith also went for 6 sixes against scotch including 3 in about three overs nd that swhen scotch wasnt even going for quik runs but all in all good bowler solid bat and great bloke

Stress fractures, lynch out for 6-8 months including footy season

Thats total BS he is back for the last round. He didn't want to make is back injury serious so he didn't bowl against BGS. It doesn't matter anyway we've got the premiership wrapped up.

Re: APS Squad - Your Final Team

From scotch:
Forbes -Bowls n bats ********en well
Parisi - Bowls bloody well and smacks ******** out the park at No.9 for scotch
Gelling -Stats speak for him with bat and ball
Wolfe - Captain scotch through wins all throught the yr while hittin runs and bowling insane amount of overs

ALL SHOULD MAKE IT! would be a crime if one misses out.

Re: APS Squad - Your Final Team

From the Geelong schools.

GC
Hartnell - would have to be the best with the gloves in the APS (wk)
Kitchen - made runs at an agressive rate all year. bat at 5 or 6
dark horse Rogerson - has proved he can bat and bowl very well with 60 odd on the w.e to go with his 5fa.

GGS
O'Keefe - Over 450+ runs for the year and his offies are very dangerous.

when and where is the aps ags game? and when does the team get announced?

rekon you'll make it? lots of wickets in the second half of the year and a few people have you in their team. i wouldnt be surprised at al if you get in

Re: APS Squad - Your Final Team

hah nah i seriously doubt i'll be in, because everyone that can bowl as well as me can bat as well, i can't bat to save myself.

Re: APS Squad - Your Final Team

but still, it might be better for the team if the selectors choose people who are specialist. coz at haileybury i know we have problems because basically everyone is an all-rounder. that creates problems because everyone thinks they should be batting or bowling.
