APS Team of The Year

My team would be:
1. W. Ryan (XC)
2. Carr (GC)
3. Curtain (XC)
4. Keath (MGS)
5. Graham (GG)
6. Bett (MGS)
7. Loorham wk (CGS)
8. Parker (CGS)
9. Coleman (HC)
10. Hannan (XC)
11. Voyage (MGS)
12. Williamson (HC)

Correct me if i'm wrong.....but stats say this will be the team for this year

Re: APS Team of The Year

Stats mean nothing if you're picking players purely on reputation.

I mean, whats the point of playing hard to make the APS team if players can get picked just on their reputation.

what have you been smoking???? Look at the stats....muppet

Re: APS Team of The Year

what are you talking about?

what has keath done this season in the aps?

surely theres someone more deserving of a spot in the aps team than keath.

Re: APS Team of The Year

Agreed no one in their right mind would pick me for the team of the year... Also i think Seb Gotch may have been a little stiff, despite only being in year 10 he and Loorham have been the stand outs behind the stumps. I reckon Seb could be the 12th man and one to look for in the future years.

As for Keathy keep him in, the bloke has consistently been in the runs for the past two years with another to come and to compliment his medium pacers would be a great acquisition for the team.

Yeah but Graham hasn't scored anything near what Keath has and yet he was picked??????

If this was the team that was picked who do you think would be given the captaincy duties as this team i believe has 2 players that captain their respective schools. Would the captain be Carr or Parker or Williamson even though i don't think he will get picked or would they pick someone who isn't captain of the school team. Your thoughts

well pal, on stats, ryan has made 2 scores of 70 and 60, and bett has made 340 runs for the year opening the batting and is at 6 in your team. gotch has made a 100 and an 80 and cant even get in the team. carr hasnt done anything, and loorham is at 7 even though hes made 350 runs for the year... jacko coleman is the best quick in the comp, but his stats dont show it, youve got some questions to answer

the top three is very suspect. Will Ryan is has not performed at a level where he can be considered one of the best 6 batsmen in the APS. Bett has been on fire and I believe he is now opening the batting? Who says a wicketkeeper has to bat at 7? Loohrum at 5, Mcmillian as a specialist batsman at 4 or 6. Curtain, whilst being reasonably consistent, has not made a ton. And who can forget Sam O'brien from St Kevins...2 tons. As far as captain goes surely it would go to Parker as the captain of Carey and a certainty to make the side as a leg spinner and lower order batsman.

Coleman's stats aren't the best but i hear his slips have cost him atleast 5 wkts this year
I dunno about O'Brien so i put him as an opener..
Any issues with the bowling attack?????

1.O'Brien (St.Kevs)
2.Bett (MGS)
3.Curtain(XC)
4.Keath (MGS)
5.Loorham (CGS) wkt.
6.McMillan (SG)
7.Gotch (CG)
8.Parker(CGS) capt.
9.Coleman (HC)
10.Hannan (XC)
11.Voyage (MGS)
12.Graham (GGS)

12.Graham (GGS)

best effort so far i reckon. i would make a few changes

1.O'Brien (St.Kevs)
2.Bett (MGS)
3.Curtain(XC)
4.Keath (MGS)
5.Loorham (CGS) wkt.
6.Gotch (CG)
7.Graham (GGS)
8.Parker(CGS) capt.
9.Coleman (HC)
10.Voyage (MGS)
11.???
12.McMillan (SG)/Morris (MGS)

Graham has to be in there - made runs, though dropped off towards end of season, but would be up there in terms of aggregate. Also bowls decent offies and high up the list for leading wicket taker.

Not sure about Mcmillan...

Morris has been the best wicketkeeper this year in my opinion and also best captain - results of MGS back that up.

Not sure why Hannan is rated so high, ive heard he's taken 13 wickets in 2 weeks, but wasn't in the team prior to that? No one comes to mind to deserve the other bowling spot.

Re: APS Team of The Year

Definately not the batting order.....just what i think would be the 12...
I think Graham would slot in at 7 with Gotch carrying drinks
