Australia in India

Tbf, the Indians have a good mix of under 30's as well, with Sharma, Singh, Gambhir and Mishra.

But the class of that middle order will be hard to replace for sure.
Yeah exactly. However, I think Rohit Sharma was touted to be the next Satchin Tendulkar. Rohit mightn't be getting a game at the moment, but he is one of the rising stars that could get a test spot within two years.

Re: Australia in India

Of course the BCCI were going to kick up a massive fuss after his appeal was rejected. They think they own correct, above even the ICC.

How about this "Indian governing body, the BCCI sent the ICC a letter explaining why it would not accept the decision."

Is this some sort of threat to the ICC with the letter? They should be sanctioned for their actions, why can't they just accept the decision and move on.....

I agree with you wholeheartedly.
India are a pack of whingers.

4th Test - India vs Australia at VCA Stadium, Nagpur

The series comes down to this, the fourth test at Nagpur. India go into the game needing only a draw to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy whilst Australia must win to level the series. If they can do that, they will retain the trophy as they are the current holders.

India go into the game with a lot of distractions. Sourav Ganguly will play his last game, VVS Laxman will play his 100th, Gautam Gambhir has been suspended while everyone is stll trying to recover from Anil Kumble's sudden retirement. This will also be MS Dhoni's first time as the team's full-time captain, the last two time's he has learnt of Kumble withdrawal only on the morning of the game so it will be interesting to see how he goes as the team's official captain.

With Gambhir suspended, M Vijay comes in to open the innings. Vijay is in some good form in India's domestic four-day series the Ranji Trophy, scoring a double century in the season opener this year. Harbhajan Singh comes back into the side after recovering from injury and will replace the retiring Kumble.

For Australia, the team composition is still very much up in the air. Rumours of Stuart Clark not playing have gathered some steam with either Doug Bollinger or Peter Siddle a chance to replace him. Jason Krejza is once again in the mix for the spinners spot after Cameron White's modest efforts with the ball. However, with Australia only having five specialist batsman, the security that White offers with the ball may see him get the nod again.

One common ground both these side shave will be the pitch. VCA Stadium is yet to host a first-class fixture so this will the first one ever played at this ground. Ponting said yesterday that the pitch was "rock hard with no grass on it". It does look like it will favour the spinners but the main question everyone wants to know is will it produce a result?

Re: Australia in India

I was listening to the news on the radio and the Indians want to play Gambhir anyway despite the ban that he got.
To the Indians sorry if I make a bad comment here but I think that your team's board are a pack of whingers. I can't believe that the BCCI can't accept the decision and move on.

Re: Australia in India

Stuart Clark's omission with Krezja and Cameron White both included has me slightly confused.

Clark is economical and can bowl a lot more overs than White.

Odd.

Re: Australia in India

With Lee & Johnson opening the bowling, Watto as first change, White & Krezja to get some overs before lunch- I'll make the call.

india will be 0-200 at lunch! ;)

Clark hasnt looked threatening at all and his economical bowling isnt causing wickets to fall at the other end

Thought Siddle should have got another chance, bowled alright in his first test and was the best Aussie bowler

Doesn't surprise me if that is the case, el cap. :)

Re: Australia in India

Well done to Krejza. @|

Great captaincy from Ponting as well, he could have easily dragged him from the attack when he was getting carted but he stuck with him and got the rewards.

Re: Australia in India

Top stuuf earlier but now we need to rid ourselves of Mr 162.50 avg.

And not to mention Tendulkar.

Re: Australia in India

3/234, Tendulkar 83, Laxman on 45. Still 30 overs to go due to a slow over rate so India could get well past 300 before the day is out.

Been a carbon copy of the past few tests so far.
