Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10 (Part 2)

Clocker, I imagine you're referring the CMCA as Rio Tinto, and not ANA, because despite being hung out to dry for the first two rounds, we are 100% behind our man.

As for the Hoops, I believe they are throwing the feelers out there for a new CC to see if any good cricketers out there will take the carrot. If not, then they will go back to the status quo... but that very much depends on whether the status quo are prepared to stick around after what I read as a vote of very little confidence. This ties in with differing stories from sources, suggesting that elder statesmen/life members are voluntarily retiring, yet when you hear from other sources they are being forced into retirement and may consider moving elsewhere?

Brisbane
Collingwood (against the hapless Dees)
West Coast
St Kilda
Sydney
Fremantle
Bulldogs

to make the matter even more insane, apparently the 'official' charge got changed half way through the hearing from umpire decent (of which there was no case to answer) to abbusive language (which doesn't it have to be able to be heard by a spectator) ... at hurly thats insane as i was there as close as anyone & didn't hear a word.. PS- you could strangle someone there & not hear from the boundary!!

Which one of the BBQs was "umpire decent"? Was the other one "indecent"?

6 posts. All of which are correcting people. Surely you've got better things to do with yourself?

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10 (Part 2)

Merl it was just a throw away comment which was probably not needed.

I have heard word that i am returning home also, but i have yet to make my decision about me future. I will be meeting with two partys this week re: next season.

I leave for the UK soon but i have made no decision on next year at all.

Obviously a teacher. They are never wrong.
Wonder if Brett may show some interest in the position at HWCC?
He could slot in at 4 or 5 and watch out. :D

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10 (Part 2)

Thanks for the kind words from some of you boys. Obviously it is a labour of love although I tend to be a bit knackered at the end of a season and enjoy the 6 months of being able to get out a bit. Regardless of what might be right or wrong with it I love our comp and have made a lot of friends through it and despite the odd on-field clash it is a friendly comp with plenty of mixing between clubs. Really enjoy the banter on BCF too, fills in lunch times at work.

Yes, Dean Edmonds would be a good fit at KH.

Picked 7 Merl (missed the Pies) but happy to go with 6 for integrity of comp.

HWCC is a proud club and despite my difference with UM on here i will not be applying and i wish them the best of luck in there search for a good candidate who may take them to greener pastures.

My cricket future has all ready been decided anyway.

Well c'mon, spill the beans Brett. We won't tell anyone. Are you back at the lush Centenary Park or will you continue with turf?

I'll take a stab in the dark and say his pride took a big hit last season and made him realise the synthetic stuff is his go. The Lakers probably don't want to admit it, but they need him as much as he needs them.
