City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 2010/11

Clocker,

Shagga wont bowl. and if he did It would be little off spinners like ash. Backman from what I was told by someone close to him was told he isnt a one day game player and will play all the two dayers. Just reporting what I was told. It will be interesting to also see how mucn mackie win by this week.

Tips for Rnd - 3.
Longy;

Machine - The big fella to ton up.
B-Uniting - Bowling is suspect, but will have enough.
Beach Boys- Small ground will suit.
Hoops- Flat track specialists, bowling weakend with injuries to [ 2 ].
Gold Caps- fielding is terrible at the moment, but should hang on.
Spiders - Home ground will suit and the captain should be back.

Wooly;

Gold Caps- but only just , cluden at the races.
B-Uniting- Were good last week, too much batting debth.
M West - Ommies big test, maybe struggling internally.
Hoops - at home, the champ in good form although they lack bowling.
Highett West -Uncles last chance.
Sharks- What will they be like after 3 wins, party time in the rooms this week again.

By the way, the DVD of Washingtons 'crushing' win will be available from their club on Monday morning.Special behind the scenes footage also available including commentary and the song.Geez there I go again. That's it, I will impose a one week suspension upon myself before Spongebob and his Green mates run off to the Executive.

Nice one Clocker, at least it's an amusing read for a Friday arvo. All fun at the end of the day....
Will make sure I express post the first DVD to you - or do you want me to rip it to YouTube so you can watch it on repeat! ;)
Hope my 'green' mates are feeling better by game time too....
Have fun, and tipping one-dayer next week!

Wow,who would of thought Redbacks v Panthers playing for top spot, seems not that long ago we were having a relegation battle. Things change when you get a few kids in the team. Oh well good luck to all and hopefully your Spring carnival is going better than mine.

Omega (if it ends up being a one day game) Mackie (if its a two day game - Roids to bowl a lot of overs) Hope you accept this merl cause you already docked me 2 for putting my tips in before the games started.
Uniting - easy
Elwood - whoever looses this will be bowled out very cheaply
Union - sorry Golf, too much to loose for Union
East Sandy - probably washed out this week and will have a completely different team next week
Le Page - always a tight tussle this one

East Sandy - Cluden are gone
Uniting - too much depth
West - cruising
Heights - travelling well
West - could be very interesting this one, Flav to carry the boys over the line
WP - don't under estimate Edi-Asp but the batting has been putrid

Once again good luck and good punting

Brudes, I'd love to carry the lads, but unfortunately for the cricket I've gote a more important matter to attend to.

Heard word on the grape vine that all is not well at Bricker reserve, quite a few disgruntled players with the Coach including one senior member and long time servant of the club opting to miss this Rd's action in fav of the cup!!

We may well see a player revolt and the axing of Mr Ferguson!!

Superb riposte Parker, complete with little rhyme.

Relieved Uncle Mick, not too much cabbage in the 88.3 coffers!!!

Hello Homer J.
hope you can back up your talk from last Sundees radio show with action @ the Centrals Poker night in a few weeks..
Taking Hammers $$$ on the cards table is fun (& extremely easy) , but yours is worth double !!!

Shuffle up & deal !!

Evening All,

Tips look pretty straight forward with the only divided opinion being the Panthers spiders battle.

Merl heard from an impeccable source aka the woman on the tram that the child has reinvented himself as one of our newbies possibly using his uk identity to get around duplicate membership. thus avoiding the draconian socialist ban by the Brady Rd billionaires.Memories of Barrack's closure of both the old CMCA guest book and his censorship of the once great ANA guestbook.

Brudes you know the rules which Merl will be very strict on no tips in by Peter Peter loose 2 points no exceptions.Get yourself organised. If tomorrow is washed out anyone can change their tips next week.yes Brudes I will accept your 1 day or two day tip but either way the BCF's very own B will personally account for Slim's rabble who are on a path to self disintergration!!!!!!

Adam no tips yet but Merl did thoroughly enjoy the 24 min 25 secs of you and the judge on you tube.True to his reputation the judge didn't hold back with such classics as

Ano wouldn't have come cheap, and is getting longer in the tooth
A long year for the Golfers
I don't rate Omega
Mackie look tired
Ash Russell is earning his money
A tough year for West Bentleigh
The weight of the world will be on Marc Reid
There is pressure on Moose
Hampton Central could cause a few headaches
The General Marshall Bunting is the MVP of the comp!!!!!!

And yes I believe it is the wizard, old man river, journey man, whatever moniker you want Clive Dickson has popped up at the Brady Rd billionaires twos!!!!!!!!!!

Nice to see you showed your impeccable dress sense while the judge was very casual in his palatial back yard and merl was particularly impressed with the last question of do you want a beer and you without hesitation said yes after a dry 24m 24secs of great oratory!!!

Merl's tips

H West will do it for Uncle Mick
Wash Park and could you send me a DVD as Merl is old enough to remember their glory years.

Jimmy don't forget to get that full explanation out of Trigger and get yourself organised as talking about longy until 11:30 is not good enough I want to hear about the grandson and his mates and how they went!!

until next time..... keep searching....... vino sipping poster..... Prof Merlot

Nice to see the custard pot lift his self imposed ban to bait Jimmy to the card table.

Merl was a dab hand at crazy wisk,euchre,500 and black jack in the old days and could get down to Fewster Rd and not only relieve custard of his cash, but show himself to the many stig look a likes searching for him!!!!

What absolute tripe!
Maybe if you checked your facts Mr dingles, you would've noticed that the same player has missed this same round the last couple of years.
Also have to laugh at the so called 'judge', who says he doesn't rate Omega and says we're too old as we brought in Darren Haw into our firsts. So old that the first 2 rounds saw us playing 6 kids under the age of 23 in our 1st XI.
Wasn't it he who brought in Cedric last year and then couldn't control him? Pretty funny stuff!

Tips for Round 3 are:

Omega
Bentleigh Uniting
Elwood
Brighton Union
East Sandy
Le Page Park

Woolnough:

Cluden
Bentleigh Uniting
Omega
Brighton Union
Highett West
Washington Park

Vinnie

Just pure gold and that is what the forum is all about a bit of give and take bob and weave stand up for your club spoken like the true Collingwood supporter you are if only the go dees had people like yourself.Who are the 6 kids and what are their prospects and what about your own form?In addition have slim and B got the usual 6 slabs on the game this year?

Who is Mr Dingles is he a somebody or just a nobody?

Sponge no relation to the product you are producing ie the DVD Dick van Dyke aka Bob?

I hope Heuy lets some play go on today

Meanwhile as Julie Andrews would say Merl will just be singing in the rain and like my long time poster buddy Army Jimmy I would appreciate a podcast for all those times I miss the show maybe the Jimmy/Sponge Bob enterprises could produce DVD's and podcasts you could make a fortune

until next time...keep searching....... vino sipping poster.....Prof Merlot

Afternoon All,

Not much action on the BCF which with the rain and plenty of time on people's hand I thought there would be more. With the long weekend to be enjoyed by most no doubt there will be plenty of action in the next few days.

Vinnie
I hope you got on Poor Judge at flemington at $17 which was a monty after potting the wigged one the other day.

Merl got on to both it and Lion Tamer and is still counting the folding stuff with a short break to brag on the BCF.

Jimmy
I hope Uncle Mick appreciates the retraction of sorts but listening to Trigger I am not sure he remembered yesterday let alone last weekend. The poor old bloke is getting older by the day!!

I assume Hiliary will issue a secretariol bulletin advising all games cancelled yesterday and re started as one dayers next week?

The Go Dees 2011 draw looks appealing with 13 sessions locked into the Long Room with Adam and the usual Pommy bird's weekend blockbuster against Vinnies pies.If the child was still with us under his own steam I am sure there would be a complaint talking about footy in the cricket season.

Adam,Clint and Lightning if you are all still with us what about getting off your collective back sides and put your tips in or Merl will just put a line through your names!!!

until next time...... keep searching..... vino sipping poster..... Prof Merlot

Who is Mr Dingles is he a somebody or just a nobody?

Merl,

Always will stand up for my club especially when a nobody decides to spread absolute dribble.
The six kids who played the first 2 games are guys who have played longmuir before. 4 of our 5 bowlers led by clemo (23), Mitchell (19), D'Amico (18) and Wighton (17).Also we had Jarryd Lyons(18) back for Round 1,but he's more than likely to get drafted in the AFL so he most probably will only make a few cameo's. Add to that list Jack Drummond (18) who has unfortunately just hurt his achillies, but he's been replaced by Matt Caia (16) who has top scored in both our Woolnough wins.
Picked for his first game this week was 'Ugly' Dave Bray (22) who is pretty raw but has a fair bit of pace.
All in all each of these kids will only get better, and with our 2's and 3's undefeated and putting pressure on our ones, we're pretty confident how the season will unfold.
Personally I've gone down to captain our 3rds and we've got off too the perfect start whilst playing alot of kids. Missed out with the bat but gloving them ok. Unfortunately will miss this game due too being in Sydney for a family do.
No bets between Slim and B but i'm sure the boys from the Oasis would've loved to have played on Saturday and avoided playing against slim who will now be back for the one day game.
Wouldn't have a clue who dingles is and couldn't be less interested!

Missed the omen bets merl but did see one of the the BCF posters at the station whilst on my way to the races with slim. I wonder how Mr fantana ended up after his day in a marquee? Another good 'pies man.

Just want to wish Uncle Mick all the best for tomorrow, hope it's a ripping day mate.

by the way Jimmy what is riposte?

In fencing, the riposte (French for retort) is an offensive action with the intent of hitting one's opponent, made by the fencer who has just parried an attack.
In everyday language, a riposte is synonymous with a retort and describes a quick and witty reply to an argument or an insult.

The word must have come from a memory of my Monbulk High School education Merl where the favoured sports were fencing, unicycling, european handball and hockey (many Dutch teachers up there) rather than traditional sports like football & cricket.

Jimmy,
Given the earlish nature (for a sundee) of the radio show, any chance of getting it podcast?

Army, working on this, have been since last year and hope to have up and running before Xmas, not sure 11ish is early though.

Burgs, depending on date (have a heavy schedule), will be there as have heard that the HC is a superbly run event and want to see the triple B (Bad Beat Burger) in action. Did you have time on Saturday to open your season account mate?

Vinnie - get on Caia. One of the better bats Uncle Mick has slipped a few past in recent years. Got all the tools to be a very good senior batsman. And thanks for the kind words, champ. Weather's looking tip top for the big one. Enjoy tonight and I'll catch you at 'The Brick' soon - just keep Flynny away cos I haven't stopped hearing about that juicy full toss all week!!!
