Dvca - Finals 2014/2015

Finals are a funny game, some rise and others crumble under the pressure, it also takes 11 contributors not 1-2 stars who do it all

It probably helps when you pick an even side, not 8 bowlers and 4 blokes who can bat. And in the end that cost them.

I'm still baffled that Keane got dropped for the semi final.

Word has it that the Macleod supporters behaviour on Saturday at Mill Park was well below par after copious amounts of alcohol were consumed. Apparently one of their players had to come to the boundary to tell them to pull their heads in halfway through Whittlesea's 11 overs. One particular tall bloke with a beard was goading the 'in-going' batsman, telling him how soon he would be back from the middle.

Were you there Serg ? Can you confirm or defend ?

As long as they were sinking the home clubs piss, and no abuse then fair game!

Below par behaviour in Mill Park? The whole suburb is below par.

All seemed above board up to the time I left which was around 5.15 pm.

Interesting to look at where the premiers in each grade finished on the ladder:

Barclay: 3rd
Money: 3rd
B: 1st
C: 2nd
D: 2nd
E: 2nd
F: 1st
G: 1st
H: 3rd

Maybe the team that finished top had some big easy wins, didn't have to scrap as much throughout the season and then couldn't handle the pressure in the big games.

Bang on the money there with easy wins (out rights) changing the shape of the ladder.
Especially in money shield where finals positions were all from sides with 10 point wins under the belt via the ability to roll sides for under 100 in quick time.
Get back to the old decks and we'll be able to see some better performances from batsmen (and good bowlers) while the bowlers whom rely on the wicket get figures they deserve.
And maybe then we can see some good finals cricket for once and stop losing good players other comps!

Amen brother.

Just don't mention the shit pitches too much, people around here get on the defensive and tell you to stop whinging.

How these "things" were allowed in the first place still has me baffled.
