Fake cricket bats

Re: Fake cricket bats

That's genuine. The ones with Gilchrist's signature on the back are grade 1 willow. They retailed for about $600-650AU when that model was current

Re: Fake cricket bats

yeah looks a quality bit of willow! might need a bit of time but give it a couple of months after you've started using it and it should go nicely!

Got brought a cricket bat from Asia, not used it yet or knocked it in. Is a Puma Ballistic 6000, maybe fake - the pics online show a green coloured sticker mines in blue:

Real or fake?

Looks fake as to me, the stickers give it away plus the bat looks off centre.

Keep it under the seat of your car in case of emergency. Not much good for anything else!

Re: Fake cricket bats

Hi guys,

I was looking for cricket bats by online because there are no cricket equipments shops around my area...

While I was searching around and I figured out there were a lot of fake bats around that arrange around $40s

I was trying to find a "legit and genuine" bats and I found this bat:

Kookaburra Ice Sub 10 English Willow Mens Cricket Bat on eBay.ca (item 250567364687 end time 20-Jun-10 11:28:20 EDT)

The seller "claims" this bat is genuine Kookaburra Ice and sells for CAD $203.92.

I wanted to know if this bat is actually genuine Kookaburra bat. Could anyone help me out, please?

Thank you.

Hmm
mixed feedback, doesn 't have a high reputation.
Not that many auctions at any one time, most of the sellers have a lot going at all times.
Lack of picture of product makes me wary, it looks like a stock photo from the kba website?
Personally I would avoid, but see what some of the others say.

Re: Fake cricket bats

Anyone trying to find another stick I actually have some for sale!

They are all purchased from either Rebel Sport, GCCC, or another specialist cricket shop.

Kooka Kahuna Icon (long blade) - rrp was $695, it's got a split handle, so will sell it for $315
Kooka Kahuna Premier (long blade) - rrp was $650, only had a few nets sessions but other than that it's 100%, selling for $350
Gray Nicolls XXX (short handle) - rrp $300, brand new only had a light oiling
Gray Nicolls Spida Mach 2 (short handle) - rrp $300, brand new only light oiling
Gray Nicolls Millienium 500 (short handle) - rrp $275, sell for $150

If you're interested in anything just shoot me a PM

The forum doesn't have a for sale section (well not that I can see) so though I'd put some stuff up here while people were looking for bats via ebay

Mods please remove post if selling is not allowed :)

Hi guys can someone please help me, I bought the PUMA GTX cricket bat that rebel sport are currently selling for $239. This bat is on the front page of the summer catalogue.

I am about 90% sure this bat is a fake. It is advertised as a grade 3 english willow but I have been searching for reviews or any sign of this bat online or in overseas shops and it is pretty much non existent.
The closest bat I have seen to it is the PUMA GTR an Indian bat made from Kashmir willow its not even valued at $100.All the bat stickers are identical except for the GTX instead of the GTR but the bat profile, toe, edges and handle are all identical

The sneaky thing is that rebel sport also have this (kashmir) GTR bat on sale for $89.00.

I have been looking for this PUMA GTX online for 3 days now and it's no where to be found which surely means rebel sport are up to something sneaky

Thanks for the reply mate. Rebel sport emailed me back about the issue assuring me that this is 100% legit. Apparently this GTX is a special bat exclusive to rebel sports only and so is the GTR (Kashmir) version

I initially thought it was either the karbon 3000 or 4000 too but the stickers, toe and handle look a bit different.

I'm still taking this bat back for a refund I find the whole exclusive to rebel sport thing a bit fishy.

For $240 you should be able to get a reliable 3/3.5 star grade 3 English willow bat instead of a made in India English willow bat that no one has ever heard of.
