Harbhajan Singh banned for three matches
Harbhajan Singh has been banned for three matches following his racial taunt towards Andrew Symonds during the second test. It is believed that the incident occured on Saturday in which an argument between Harbhajan and Symonds resulted in Harbhajan calling Symonds a "monkey".
Mike Procter, the match referee ruled that Harbhajan had breached Level 3 of the ICC's Code of Conduct and was subsequently given a three match ban.
Harbhajan's ban means he will miss the rest of the test series. However, should India choose to appeal the decision, Harbhajan will be free to play until the appeals hearing is held.

So, what are everyone's thoughts? Personally, I think the right decision was made. The BCCI stated during the India-Australian one-day series that racial taunts by crowd members wouldn't be tolerated and that any crowd members making any references to "monkeys" would be ejected. This should have also been aimed towards the Indian players also as we all know they are idolized in their home country and they should be setting an example for others to follow.
Pretty poor form from Harbhajan here, a totally unacceptable action on the field, there is no need for any player to racially abuse another on the field even if they were being baited by the Australian players.
