Justin Maher will be returning to St Albans for his first game of the season this week, after deciding to have a year off premier cricket.

Didn't eventuate, he'd been training with us and was told he'd have to play one game in the two's and then he'd be straight in the 1sts the following week. It had to be done as there was a precedence set with other blokes who hadn't played or done any of the preseason the weeks before eg. Chris Hester, Sean O'Leary & Luke Bennett. His old man kicked up a stink (Justin was happy to play in the 2s after all was explained about the club changing it's culture etc.) and he's now returned to Geelong, A big loss but the better decision was made for the good of the club in long run, he's said he'll look at returning maybe next season if it doesn't work out at Geelong.

Not sure how that works as he's still playing at Geelong, probably the best thing for his cricket not necessarily us though:( considering he really wanted to play back at his junior club with some of his mates. It's a shame a 19 year old can't make his own decisions:eek:

He would have to be the best leg spinner I've seen for his age, he hadn't bowled a bowl for 6 months and could land them on a dime spinning them both ways at will, would've taken 50 wickets in div3:eek:

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

hows he gonna take 50 in div 3, i thought st albans had a quality spinner already:eek:
