New World Cup Format
The ICC has devised a new format for the World Cup. The council has confirmed that the 2011 tournament will be shorter than the 2007 version with the cup being held for 38 days instead of the 47 day stretch experienced last year. There will also be fewer teams, with 14 teams taking part and they will be split into two groups of seven. The ten ICC members will automatically qualify with the four other participants to be decided via a 2009 qualifying series.

Format is still a joke. Should be no more than 12 teams and the tournament shouldn't go for longer than a month. I'd be happy to see three groups of four to be then followed by a super six format. The super six format would see two games played per day, a day game and a day/night fixture on each day during the super six stage. Following this would be the semi-finals and then of course the Grand Final.
All up, this format wouldn't go for longer than a month and would ensure a quick but entertaining battle for the right to earn the World Cup. It would be better for fans and the players and wouldn't see the tournament drag on and on, which was what happened in the West Indies.
Unfortunately, the ICC only sees dollar signs and they'll drag it out for as long as they can in order to maximize their bank account when they really should be thinking of the game.
So, what does everyone think? Any suggestions you might have, post them up here for discussion.
