I don't "know" what he was being paid, I obviously wasn't in those discussions. I can only go off what I am told and it was substantially lower than what people said he was getting ($16k).

Probably not sharp enough to trouble bats in higher premier grade, but he has good height and can bat

Do Eltham pay everyone, whether it be incentive based or contract based, or would he be the only one? I would think it would be less, if what you've said is true and he initiated the talks there is no chance he was on that much

Leaves them light on, they need to be active in recruiting or they could see themselves drop right down next season. Need a bat or two and probably another bowler

No harm in trying. It's not like 4ths is a great standard. 3rds is ok. Have a crack and if he can't get out of the 3rds come back.
