A Barclay Shield club will be looking to announce a handy inclusion to there playing/coaching stocks for next season. Expect an an official announcement later this week.

Not really to be completely honest. I don't know what decisions he is going to make. I can tell you that ECC would 100% want him at the club next year. No ifs or buts about that.

Don't know which club this is but Research ECCC have signed a new Captain Coach for next season. I'll give all the details on the radio on Saturday morning. With the current list going around again and a couple more added, hopefully a brighter season in 2013/14.
 
Former Hawthorn Monash Captain and player, Ben Cookson has signed to Captain Coach Research ECCC for next 3 seasons. Ben is a 28yo wicket keeper batsman and former Research junior. More signings to follow.

Not sure where that rumour came from.
May still be the best going around, but values is something that we want instilled in our club, and one club players are something that we look at pretty highly.
 
Why was pig stood down as captain at plenty for next season while the grand final was still being played? Strange decision given he got them to a gf when they were nowhere at christmas.

Surely he wasn't sacked mid game? Unless something alarming happened? Plenty weren't far off relegation last year, had a shocker. Recruited Pig, (which you would think had at least 2 year contract) he had a reasonably good year, got them not only into finals, but a Grand Final. And then to give him the flick?

Sounds very strange.

Apparently he was told his services wouldn't be required beyond the end of this season on the eve of the finals...

Not sure what happened there, maybe PA can shed some light?
 
I'm hearing a rumour that Scotty Gibbs is headed for Money Shield next season with a couple of clubs chasing his services. Also heard Banyule have recruited an opening bowler from Ivanhoe?

Plenty website seems to say otherwise:

Our thanks are also extended to Simon who announced his decision to resign from the captaincy due to ever increasing business commitments. Simon's captaincy played an integral role as we gathered the necessary momentum to reach the grand final.'
