Jacko, sledging me is not going to help you play on a Saturday, can i suggest mowing my lawns and washing my car! And when you do get a game i will need you to clean and press my whites as well as make my arvo tea!

Dont try and pinch my spinner Moz. You already have 6 bowlers, how many do u want. And anyway its Jacko's turn to bat at 3 this week.(if Gooch can get 30, there's hope for us all). 36 overs in the field may be Jacko's (and my) limit this year.

Happy to trade you two bowlers for Jacko, and we need a new specialist number 11, Mad One is out with a broken finger!

Anyways how many spinners do you need to clean up the tail?

As for a run down of our game on Saturday, we lost another close one. This time chasing 160. We didn't bowl well early and bad balls were despatched appropiately. If we we came out and bowled/fielded like we did in the last 20 overs we would have only been chasing 120.

Re: Senior Seconds 09/10

Great to read the comments on this site, bodes well for the year.

Mozz, I'll send my 6 year old to see you, he'd slave for you to get a game, i think that his old man's been around a bit too long!

Rossy, our star studded 3's side lost, even though we managed to take 5 for 2at one stage. We had 3 guys over 40, led by our fearless skipper Jike, an under 15, a 12 year old sub fielder and 3 guys who'd been on the piss until well after sunrise Sunday morning. From my first couple of overs you'd think that I was one of them. Despite loosing by 15 odd runs, it was great fun.

As luck would have it I've now got an infection in my "falling over" wound that Mozz mentioned and will probably miss a few weeks. :mad:I'll have to satisfy my cricket appetite reading about you blokes.

Re: Senior Seconds 09/10

Jacko, put a band aide on your wound and turn up to training tomorrow night if you can.......

Re: Senior Seconds 09/10

Been quiet on here ....... Mozz/Jacko.. i see your game is in dispute for some reason??? Care to enlighten us??

We played Keilor and it was a fairly even game. They lost one of their opening bowlers early and struggled for penetration after that. They have a Sth African bat who certainly can hit a ball, albeit in the 2nd innings and with us fielding with 9 players.... Thankfully got him out cheap when it counted in the first dig.

We have a nightmare selection this week. Looking at about 8 1st and 2nd 11 players un-availble for different reasons.... Ridiculous asking players to play 200 overs in 2 days (80 on Sat and 120 in 3 x 20/20's yday). Not even test cricketers play 100 overs a day!!! Enjoyed my beer watching, but gee there were a few spent lads.

Re: Senior Seconds 09/10

unfortunately I was unavailable for sunday otherwise I would have come down to give the guys a hand. looking forward to this week, whatever team i'm in... just happy I got back into the 2's as I didn't really fancy playing against that team called Bye :p

Very quiet here because we keep getting our asses handed to us on a platter with terrible starts to games. Showed a bit of spirit on the weekend and had the better of the day. But game already won and was the second dig.
No idea why game is in dispute, both books balanced and signed when i left!!
Talking about unavailables.......... if we haven't got at least 2 unavailable for whatever reason we have got a new injury to deal with. Be nice to have our strongest 11 available any time soon!!! As for the 20/20 comp, we are playing our 2nd round match at home this Sunday if you and some of the lads fancy a beer! Jacko may even be there if he isn't unavailable or injured or both!!!!!!!!!!

Well hopefully you guys can get moving forward after your good day Sat.
I am just going on the MyCricket site it is saying "result in dispute"??

Yeah well it looks like our 1's will lose 1 opening bowler (hammy), a keeper (rolled ankle) and our #4 bat (hammy). Along with over 100 of our runs made in the 2's and 3 other players (1's-2's) still un-available..... could be a long night in selection:eek:

Sunday sounds ok. I will see if I can work it so I can get down there.... I am sure Jacko and I can swap stories of spinners woes...

Re: Senior Seconds 09/10

I'm o/s this weekend, continuing my run of no cricket. Hope to play the week after, if the skipper will have me.

Jacko's on the other side of the world until Sat week, so his next game is in the 3rds where he should be. Potential opener for me.

Re: Senior Seconds 09/10

Woke up this morning on the other side of the world and thought I should check the scores. Something strange is happening; Tiger facing some competition, A Morrison scoring plenty of runs and J Ross batting at the top of the order. Must be the heat wave I've been reading about.

Now TOBB, I know u are claiming injuries at Spotty at present but opening the batting and the bowling on the same day at your age, next thing u will tell us u "got lucky" Sat night. I thought that was banned after u/12's. And Mozza, u dont need to follow his lead after your 60 on Sat as well. As 4 u Jacko, Ive saved u a spot, come and join the form team of the club (2 wins in a row) with a few of new guys starring

Didnt really have too many options!! Having said that, I was probably the worst option!! And if Rhino reads this, yes I did run in to bowl with a helmet on and a tissue stuffed up my nose from batting so high:D And wait till this week, I may even keep!! Good to be captain..... Congrats too Mozza.... batting is an easy gig though, I have always said that. The game is made for batsmen...:p

2Wins on the trot Jika..... nice one...

Undefeated since the skippa found his correct batting position (no.11). Dont give Mozza ideas about keeping as well, although if he loses another yard it may all be possible in the same over.

Re: Senior Seconds 09/10

Some interesting results on the weekend. Some notably high scores aswell. Bit of competition for top 4 placings, very close from 2 - 7. Still early days. Very important round next week. Please no more rain.

CA,
Some very interesting results from the w/end. And some important games this w/end. OEG's vs CY's with the loser starting to lose touch of the 4, McK v Airport West this will firmly plant AW on top if they win, YC v StB again if YC drop this one will drop back from the pack, and we have RPB in a return of last years Central GF. The other results "should" be pretty straight forward. BUT funny game cricket....

On a side note, how are other clubs going with availability of players? We have had R1-3, R2-3, R3-4 and possibly 5 changes this week!! Nightmare!!

Re: Senior Seconds 09/10

Rossy, our bowling hasn't been entered on MyCricket from the weekend. is it impossible to do now that the match has been closed off?
