Back on Crimson 1 Drs Wellham. Pederson and Webke were pondering the same problem they had on earth, how to break the Martian craft protection after Spring had told them about the new cigar shaped Martian craft and how it was impervious from their EMP laser weapon.

Wellham: Well friends it is back to the old drawing board. What have their scientists done differently to their other craft to improve security against an enemy attack to the extent that our laser pulse virtually bounces off. Peter said there was no dome/shield, so the secret has to be in the construction of the crafts body.

Pederson; It is baffling Richie. Our Danish team broke the first phase but were unable to finish it as you Australians did.

Webke: Richie you will have to run us thru how you mastered the problem last time, he said in his gutteral Bavarian accent.

Perter replied "If this new Samarkian shield enhancement is within the embedded structure of the new Samark craft, I'd love to see even a little sample of that Material as no doubt Dr Wellham would too. Good luck Richie."

Yes Richie I was reading that they are guided using a combination of GPS and an inertial navigation system that impacts the surface at high speed while using a specialized steel alloy casing to that providess the drilling function. The Yanks used them in the Middle East in 2000 to weed out two ISIS despots that had hidden WMDs underground.

The little green being with the shock stick was bipedal, two legs and two arms. Dropping his shock stick he raised his arms and hands in supplication putting himself between the Earthlings and the nervous milling giant maggots around him.

He spoke in the language of the captured Samarks on Earth that were questioned extensively and their language learned.

"Please spare my little flock Humans, they are my care and living, that is all that I am with my garden and fatty bugs "

65m is impressive through hard rock Craig, so thinking of a honeycombed cave system I'd guessed much more penetration, as a wild guess ... 11km.

Certainly better than Nukes are Bunker Busters.

The Martian "Bugs" we're attacking are the Samark.
These 5 limbed horror guys:


The little green fellow is one of their slaves and the worms are a food source for the Samark tended by the little green beings acting as Shepards and Gardeners . . . ¿?.¿. ??
They speak a simple version of the Samarkian language.

and sometimes themselves as a tasty snack for the Samarks.

And the large maggots farmed for food, ..

I remember we chatted about a slave class, HG Wells sort of, Morlocks and the Eloi.

I hope that's ok me jumping in and figured the Subterranean attack force would eventually unveil the dutiful and simple slaves at some stage. . . as the Samark retreat deeper downwards . . . ? . . . ?

How's "Eloi" as a plagiarised name for the little green slaves? I'm easy. (I also pinched the name Samark)

Cheers Craig. I faintly remember a region on Mars called Eloi or some similar word.

Lieutenant Ley helped with the care of captured Samarks on Earth and had learnt their language fairly well. So coming forward she spoke to the little green Eloi in her basic Samarkian language calming him down.
He told her his confusion when his Samark overlords fled deeper into the 'Nest' and how he was forgotten, yet he carried on as a maggot Shepard and Gardener, his purpose.
When asked what he was called, he replied "360845".
Assured by Col Wallace and Lieutenant Ley translating they meant him nor his race any harm he smiled and whistled, calling forth other child like Eloi who came out from a nearby subterranean cavern and overgrown fungi garden.

Spring had spoken to Dunning about the enslaved Elois who were in danger should he bunker bust the subterranean Morlock Bugs as most of the Elois were situated below the Bug population in spartan conditions working for their masters for 12 hrs every day. The best way to reach and rescue the subjugated Elois was thru the current entrance Captain Wallace and his special forces had used. Dunning added there has to be further entrances we can find. If not we will make them using our bunker buster and drills. Peter was happy to hear this as the Elois were such gentle alien creatures...

I'm about to get busy in the near future so please pardon my Iooming infrequency. I sent you a message explaining.

The advanced Martians are Samarks, not Morlocks Craig, but similar to them. Hence the confusion. No big deal.

Please take the lead in our parallel scenarios. How's Dr Richie Wellham going with the Samarks new craft shield?
