The BaggyGreens Thread

Think you mean Wyllie. Never seen Konstas squared up unless he gets a late mover and most batsmen look uncomfortable then.

Squared up was the wrong word, he doesn’t get his front pad across to the ball properly, he often just plants it forward and plays with his head and hands. So he hits it fine but if he gets one that seams past his bat there’s nothing to stop it from bowling him or just getting plumb lbw. Which is a pretty huge flaw to have despite all his talent.

He is in sad form and most under pressure. Tests an abysmal @14 last 12 mths, cant buy a run for Glamorgan in County. You can not give someone in such bad form the responsibility to see off the new ball. And Green, coming off his third and second on trot County ton, must play.

Konstas only averaged 2.5 more than Marnus in the last BGT.

Marnus faced on average 66 balls per innings

Konstas faced 34.5 per innings.

I trust Marnus more to make it through a tough opening spell, which is very important against SA in England, than Konstas, who might blast some runs but I’d rather someone that can make life easier for the the middle order run machines in Smith, Green and Head.

This is just for the WTC Final, I’d rather Konstas for the WI series.

Khawaja, Smith, Green, Head, Webster, Carey
Doubt Smithy wants to go back to opening. Didnt you wanna keep Marnus. If not opening, put him down to #4 or #5 may find some form there against an older ball. Webster #6, Carey #7. Or will they open with the aggressive Head?

That wasn’t a line up, just a list of good batsman in our team lol. I’m not opening with Smith.

There’s probably 0% chance Head opens.
