Poor old Nathan Lyon getting injured.
Hamstring from fielding?
He was brilliant spin bowling, even taking out Stokes's wicket.
Lyon is 38 but I still reckon spin bowlers can play into their 40's. Unlikely for batters and fast bowlers ...

So Australia wins the Ashes with two test matches to go. I'd like to see the Poms continue to improve and learn from a brilliant test team, Australia.
As long as his old man legs can hold up then why not? This unfortunately is his second serious soft tissue injury in a row in an ashes series so whether his body can hold up in a young man's sport for another 3 to 4 year is the question.

But will they. He is slow now in the field, reason he had to dive to save the boundary. Reckon he tweaked his hammy during his run then exacerbated the injury when he dived and slid. His second serious hammy injury in two yrs.

So what will the X1 be for Boxing Day.

Head
Weatherald
Labuchagne
Smith
Green
Carey
Webster
Neser
Richardson
Murphy
Boland.

Talk is both Cummins and Starc will be rested. What a bummer Hazlewood isnt ready for a return. Richo is my bolter but there is evidently some money on him.

Young blokes can get the same injury as well. Sam Lalor severely damaged his hammy diving on player on the boundary line in a AFL match earlier this year. He damaged it so bad he had to have surgery on it. If Lyon is still taking wickets, I'm happy for him to play on, he's still our best spinner by a mile.

My X1: An all pace attack.
Australia XII for fourth Test: Travis Head, Jake Weatherald, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith (c), Usman Khawaja, Alex Carey (wk), Cameron Green, Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland, Brendan Doggett, Michael Neser, Jhye Richardson.

Doggett omitted, not Test class. Beau Webster shud have been 12th/concussion reserve.

Talking with a mate today he reckons Lyon should have fielded closer in, what with his old legs.

A mate and I chatted today and he was very dark about Steve Smith captaining given the ball tampering fiasco.

I'm less harsh on Smith, he's still a valuable player and good acting Captain.

The pace attack was good, and what a tough wicket for both sides!
