'The bone', 'its a fevolution' and 'butler oval' please do not post again. Northcote no good, rubbish, will not tip them all year...you's are muppets! Dont write the Dragons off lads, with great youth as well as the ever consitent Trav Gloury and Dave Alleyne to guide the ship, it could very well be happy times ahead at the Dragons. Gooo you good thing!

Re: Victorian Premier Cricket 08/09

The Dragons will be looking to get two wins on the board and start the season rolling being 3 and zip. Would be a fantastic start, if they are to win both games, and could be the start of something special.

Re: Victorian Premier Cricket 08/09

how do you guys think geelong will go this year? realistically, do they have a chance at having another go at the big one?

Re: Victorian Premier Cricket 08/09

Depends how Walerys comes back from injury, really. Without him, a lot of responsibility falls on Carson, who is a very good bowler, but their back up pacemen aren't nearly as threatening.

Their pitch will favour the spinners there all year, expect Muller to have a huge season. New square put in over winter, and it isn't easy to bat on - it's super slow.

Have to back them in against North Melbourne. And without Wright, you'd think that they'd be favourites against Casey, whose batting didn't cope well first round.

Re: Victorian Premier Cricket 08/09

Round 2
Match of the Round: Hawthorn vs Footscray. Top of the ladder, versus the big recruiters of the off-season. Whoever loses this starts off the season at 0-2. Will Benham be over this week for the Hawkers? Hawthorn's strength clearly their batting, whilst Footscray their bowling. Anticipate Footscray getting up.

Round 3
Match of the Round: Melbourne vs Dandenong. A chance to measure a somewhat weakened Demons line-up against a side that, despite last week's loss, will still be viewed by many as a yardstick of the competition. Dandenong showed last year a penchant for warming into a season, and I'll back Melbourne for the points this week.
