Because there are limits and playing South B1 against Senior Division bowlers could have serious implications!

And there may not be enough room in the Dawg's World XI team.

Start writing about someone else Leroy because its starting to sound like "Lamb Fever" all over again!

You make some salient points there WLF.

What has happened to Lamb anyway? Early retirement perhaps?

and while we're at it, what happened to Onas, Weinstock and the other one they were always crapping on about?

Massive weekend coming up in Senior Division with all 6 teams in finals contention (bar RPB) falling over themselves to miss out on finals action...

Final question, what has happened with these affidavit's? It seems to have gone quiet on that front. Was it just an idol threat...?

Oh, I don't know... Perhaps when they decide to sell their souls and start buying teams.

BTW - It appears the Yarraville boys are struggling to put pen to affadavit paper. Have it on very good authority their Prez pulled them aside to sternly tell all concerned not to sign anything. Apparently the club 'will look after it' and anyone who decides to not tow the party line with be cut loose.

Should shape up as an interesting finals series. The VTCA advised Pres/Sec's at the recent meeting they are very serious about rubbing out anyone in finals games who refuses to sign a requested affadavit.

Well, that answers the affiddavit part of my post thanks SS.

Let's hope it's not an idle threat, this blatant cheating needs to be stamped out once and for all!!!

The sheer cheek of a certain Senior Div teams scorer to baost his team was paying out $107K to players for the season without any fear of retribution from our insipid VTCA committee, its beyond a joke now!

And you wonder why Southern clubs can't make the finals.........

Speaking of which, Ajax out of finals contention and Laurie has been very very quiet.

It's an interesting last round.
Senior
SC would really want to be able to chase that down, and should.
Over 200 is a tough chase at Hampton, but would think YC can do it.
AN over Doutta, Abbey has been in great nick since Christmas.
RPB won't get an outright, and Spotty will clean up OEG.
I reckon APW won't be able to get the 230 against Keilor - massive waste of money and talent for them not to make finals. Would have to be some changes after that.

Senior A
Hoppers chase down 200 comfortably, but can't see Chelt chasing 280.
Beauey look like they'll claim the beachside derby.
Brighton's 250 at MHS might not be enough, and the Strathmore-Druids game is irrelevant and play should be over by 4:30.

Also heard that a ESCA club with a couple of old North boys are trying to drag down some old mates for next season, including Hillas and Porter...

Agree with most predictions, however I think APW will get the runs about 6 down.

Wouldn't be surprised if there is a couple of sporting declarations in the RPB V McKinnon game, would be in everyone's interest to get maximum points out of that one.

Not a chance of that happening. RPB consider declaring to be cheating, so watch them make 500+ this weekend. Should make for an exciting days cricket...

There is no need to get upset sledge, if you need to know the answer maybe you should head into the fields and make some DAISY chains, or alternatively ask your Aunty JAN or Mrs JONES from up the street.

Hey guys, I have been doing some research and it doesn't look good for the clubs that have been cheating the system. Lying in an affidavit is the equivillant of lying in court. That means purgery - which carries a jail term - Hope you don't get put in a cell with some big bloke that wants to call you darling! Big risk for a game of cricket! Shit well! HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT!

Re: VTCA Cricket - General Chat

Thats better and they have a few not getting paid, its like a club that used to play in subbies they don't pay as well.
Clubs are allowed 2 paid players surely thats enough, but no we must try and buy a flag is the attitude of some.
Lets hope the powers that be catch up with the cheats.

Re: VTCA Cricket - General Chat

Seems likes a lot of the Northern posters have gone pretty quiet this week, possibly a few team meetings being called at short notice!
It's about time the comp set a benchmark as teams were even boasting of the fact how much they were shelling out on players.

Re: VTCA Cricket - General Chat

A sad day for the South yesterday with SCCC and Mckinnon dropping out of the four, both teams struggled when their Poms didn't fire.

Next weeks games are YC v RPB and Keilor v AWSC, both home teams to win.

Senior A. CYMS v Hoppers and St.Bernards v Brighton East ,again both home teams.

News out of the Presidents meetings last week. In the North meeting the clubs want to retain Senior A and in the South they want to scrap it, it will be interesting what the powers that be come up with.

Use the points System. We still want the same quality of cricket, which requires players being paid.

I am not talking about cash grabbers or journeymen here. They have no place in this competition.

To keep the same level of cricket at senior level requires as much professional input as possible.
