North A And B

Im tipping not many clubs have been able to get on their wicket.
We are no chance...
Vtca should call it off now save everyone some grief.
I feel sorry for those clubs that were relying on this week to decide there finals chances.
I would have thought that dust bowl you call a wicket would have enjoyed all that rain. Canning street is up up and away.

Went passed Jacana's ground on the way to work this morning at 7am. No covers on the wicket. Who was supposed to play there today? That is poor from JCC, obviously weren't interested in trying to get the wicket up?

have you ever thought it might've been too wet to put them down???

So so so so as predicted by couple oders here we are;

Laverton vs MV

ST ALBANS vs EK

HERE STARTS BIG DANCE???&&$$$$??????
Ur tips guysssssss n yyyyy????

Well Laverton should win comfortably. The only chance Moonee Valley has is if the deck is affected and their import rips through them. But I think they bat too deep and Lavertons bowling has no weakness!!

The other game will be closer. St Albans have all the money and all the facilities but just don't seem to get it done when it matters!! They're bowling is definately their strength but East keilors strength is their batting. If St Albans get Brodie then that might be the game but if they don't then is there someone in st albans team that can match Brodie?? It will be a great game!!
Your thoughts??

Before I start I'll give myself a pat on the back for predicting the final four a month ago on here (see post on 25th Jan)!!!!! LOL
For what its worth......
Lavo and MV will be the close one. Lavo's batting has been a little brittle since the St.Albans game. TL and WC have put them under the pump since then. (6/16 anyone??) Lots of pressure on Swallow and Logan to get big runs, or it seems they crumble. Since MV has got there import, they have improved heaps. If the import grabs some early ones Lavo will struggle. That being said, I think MV's batting is ordinary, and Lavo have a better then average attack, so Lavo home in a close one.
In the other Semi, STA to get home easily. Brodie is a quality bat but doesn't have enough support.Bell has too stand up this weekend for them to have any chance. STA have enough quality bowlers to dismiss EK pretty cheaply, and an even enough batting line up to get the job done.
Would be justice - the best two sides getting through to the granny. It doesnt always happen that way but I reckon this year it will.

Yep, Vtca Exec should keep a watch on that sort of effort. As it was, no rain friday with plenty of wind, which was enough to dry out a turf table sufficeintly to get a roller on and put covers on friday night, as was the case at Canning Street. Jacana 2's well outside the four, one for not many, chasing T/Lakes in the four 217.

Drizzle on THURSDAY.
Little rain on FRIDAY with maximum of 23 so not enough to dry.
RAIN developing ON SATURDAY with 23 maximum CHEERS MAKE UP URSELF ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE
and I think it has rained plenty tilL NOW that it won't be dry enough to get on wickets to stand on them forget rolling them...... Yipppie what does that say good bye cricket season, started wet......finishing wet.....
Saying that pretty dry forecast for semis so good luck whoever is there.
Got to hand it to you. YOU WERE RIGHT. Just as you predicted. I take back anything I might have said that may have tickled your sensibilities. What are your predictions (weather wise) for the Semi's wise one?

Well done re your 'final four' prediction. I'm inclined to agree. Lavo for mine. Should they make it to the Granny as predicted, it may well be played at Nth Altona. Council curator there tends to put too much water into the deck on the first day for mine.

Just learned of Bruce Allens passing a month ago. A wonderful gentleman and a highly respected umpire. He umpired for many years in the Footscray Cricket Association, Sunshine Cricket association and VTCA.When Bruce gave you out, You knew you were out. He will be missed. Condolences to the family.

Aberfeldie Nth'A' must be spewing. Missing the four by .94 points. Once a result has been achieved, Those last 5 to 10 overs of a match can well be the difference on whether your in or out of the four at seasons end.

Pressure on st albans would be a big big key!!!!!!
How they handle that!!!
If I could remember that group apart from Pizaro most of the group is same which has been involved in getting knocked out in semi's from last 2/3 seasons.
That would play in their mind!!!!!!!!!! EK NOTHING TO LOSE

A1
Laverton to beat Moonee Valley in a close one. Lavo's batting line up is too strong when compared to MV's. MV rely heavily on Milne to get the bulk of their runs
East Keilor to beat ST.A's in the other semi. Perfect time for another ST.A's choke in March. East Keilor hitting their straps at the right end of the season on the back of Brodie and Arrowsmith finding form

A2
Laverton to beat ST.A's. Played each other just a few weeks back and Laverton got the chocolates. Brown and Else the keys to the game.
Werribee Centrals to beat Taylors Lakes. Like Laverton, Centrals have found form at the right end of the season on the back of their bowlers rolling sides fairly cheaply. Williams looks to be the main man down there. Taylors Lakes will need to be on the top of their game to win this one

Good to see rain shouldn't be a factor in any games this weekend

how many runs has milne made ??? i think they have about 4-5 guys on the same sort of total for the season.. i think they may scrap together 200 odd runs , if they bat 1st that will be plenty... batting second not so sure... team that bats 1st wins that game..

the other game , st albans will win it on there ear.... could be over on day 1 if they bowl 1st then we can spend the sunday watching the other semi

Sorry "TheScorer"... This thread used to house the chat equivelant of West B1..
The West B1 & B2 thread is shitty! Which I only noticed once you bought it to my attention.

Also, I have seen quite a fair bit of West B1 chat on here.. Seeing as teams will be religated and promoted from and to West B1, I dare say it's fitting to ask...

" Predictions for West B1 & B2 finals? "

It's funny how everyone continues to give Moonee Valley a real chance!! Truth is the only chance they have is if their import rips through Lavertons batting and even then it still might not be enough!! Teams don't go through a season undefeated because they are no good or lucky! They are very even across the board with swallow a standout!! If they played this game ten times Laverton would win nine but could this weekend be the one for Moonee Valley??? Doubt it!!

The other game you think St Albans on their ear huh?? Seems every finals campaign everyone says St Albans are certainties and here they are still certainties in North A again!! St Albans should win but certainties they are not! Saturday night will be interesting to see the scoreboard and see if they are choking again!!!
