Re: KFC to sponsor Mini Cricket
@Mas, your right but it does happen if you think that MacDonalds have sponsored the Olympics, Soccer for years. It is one the most ironic things about Professional sport.
@AB mate, I tend to think along similar lines.
KFC to sponsor Mini Cricket
Cricket South Africa on Tuesday announced that global brand KFC is its new sponsor for mini cricket, the entry point to the game. CSA CEO Gerald Majola said it was a major boost for the further growth of the game to have an international brand such as KFC on board...
Brett Lee in Talks with Hampshire CCC
Hampshire are close to signing the Australia fast bowler Brett Lee, the county confirmed yesterday. Hampshire said talks were "at an advanced stage" with the 33-year-old who has not previously played in the County Championship.
One has to wonder...
South Africa A and Academy to tour Bangladesh
I think it is great that the South African A side and the Academy will be touring Bangladesh. It will help the South African players to learn to play on different wickets and as the World Cup will be on the subcontinent it makes sense. Also it will...
Re: Explosions heard at IPL
Seems like some of the internationals that play for Bangalore did not want to play. KP and Kallis unhappy about it.

Re: Lara to make a comeback with Surrey?
This smells awefully like a marketing event rather than him benefit Surrey CCC. Lara it seems is looking to maybe join the retired folk at the IPL and this might just be a platform for him to make some money and fill seats at the Oval.
He is 40 years...
Essex facing allegations of “match irregularities” in county cricket last season
Well this is going to divert the attention of all involved in English cricket. I must be honest I am trying to think why players in county cricket would be involved with this, is just to make some extra money.
The...
Re: Harris moves to the Lions
Mas your right he has struggled. I could not help but think about a banner in one of the test matches recently. "Harris you cannot turn a door knob" so he is facing an uphill battle. The big issue is that he wants to go to the World Cup in Asia.
Re: England appoint Saker as new bowling coach
I agree with the shock but I am thinking also that maybe the fact that Saker was an assistant coach could have played in his favor. A holistic coach versus one focused one discipline.
Interestingly it continues the trend of appointing foreigners...
Re: Harris moves to the Lions
Yes and being a central contracted player his salary is paid by CSA but I think the bigger issue is that he wanted to have a guarantee that he could be selected for all forms of the game which the Titans could not provide. He wants a chance to be eligible to be...
Harris moves to the Lions
The Titans have started the cleaning process in preseason after a massively disappointing season. First Imran Tahier (who will feature for Warwickshire) moves to Dolphins in Durban. Then yesterday the Titans announce that they will not be offering Paul Harris a new...
Re: Most over-rated bowled in the world.....
Mate, I am a bit confused :) Chris Harris played for New Zealand and Paul Harris plays for South Africa. I must admit his form has not been anything that he is capable. He is a match winner when used properly and not bowling into the legstump.
Re: Australian Contract List 2010/11
I agree with you on that front when you compare the fact that both Bracken and Callum Ferguson had knee operations but one is not contracted and one is.. However in all honesty his age might have counted against him.
Steve Smith I think is a future/...
Re: Most over-rated bowled in the world.....
@gundalf Sharma is sympomatic of Indian cricket. Brilliant young player but has been over bowled and under coached. Bowlers need to be managed and Sharma has not been. Why was Kapil Dev and Manoj Prabhakar such good bowlers in Indian conditions...
Re: Most over-rated bowled in the world.....
I'll bite - Anderson has shown me that he can run in for Strauss and when he is on song and the ball is swinging then he is a massive plus for English Cricket. Has also worked on his batting, and he is not an all rounder at all but he has shown...
Olympic venue to showcase the Australian T20 matches
Australia will play Twenty20 internationals at the 80 000-seat former Olympic stadium from the 2011-2012 season in a shift from the Sydney Cricket Ground, which has hosted international cricket in Australia's largest city since 1882.
A...
Re: IPL 2010 Season
Modi is trying to create some buzz on a matter that is to be seen as a comment. I must admit in this case the ICC can make plenty of money with all the banter between England and Australia prior to an Ashes series or about South Africas choking.
One has to keep in mind that...
Re: Favourite Cricket Journo's
Caesar on your South African journalists request. Neil Manthorp and Telford Vice write decent cricket articles but they are sometime far from subjective as they tend to have certain people that they do not write about truthfully.
If you are looking for decent...
Re: IPL 2010 Season
Wish I could say the same about the South Africans. Kallis looks like he wants a big pay day in the next player auction.
AB De Villiers struggling in a Delhi outfit which have little hope without Gambhir. Parnell injured, Duminy I suspect might have a limit appearance as...
