Gone! Simpson cant do it against a fast bowler, never in doubt
As it is with cricket, its fine to keep up with the run rate for a long time, but when its so high they were always only a wicket or 2 from the pressure building, in the end the openers left them too much to do, they basically needed Reardon to get 100+ off 50 balls
Great game in the end but I never lost the faith, even if Mark Waugh was telling us QLD had it in the bag even up to that last ball
Superb game from Andrew McDonald with the ball, probably the best all rounder with the ball in Australia, so brilliant at the death. Its always been Victorias strength, they have a few players who can get hit around but they usually end up with plenty of wickets and the batsmen give them enough to defend

QLD were on very good track for it the whole way. They did a very good job, even the openers included there.
All it took was two overs, McDonald then McGain and the game was over.
Very good bowling at the end there. Top class cricket all round.
These are the two teams deserved of the final.

Eddie has a point though.
The last two times they have been there they should have won the game, but then a massive collapse happened.
This more seemed like a bad game then a complete screw up. Just came at the wrong time.
Not trying to help or support the Vics in anyway though

Winning the toss is very important in limited overs cricket, especially in a final where you want runs on the board, yet Victoria has had to chase in all 3 MCG finals recently, last time we batted first at the MCG in a final we won
Although the Vics did bat first in Tassie, but that was a very low scoring game on a crap wicket with shocking weather
