Should be a ripper Craig - other than Stokes & Archer out with injury England also look like they're resting another half dozen of their players in the 1st Test because of IPL... anyway, as long as our blokes put in a good solid performance in these two Tests it will give us an ideal build up going into the final.

I suppose mate if it wasn't packer's WSC someone else would've created shorter versions of the game anyway.

Lord’s was originally the venue for the June 18 World Test Championship final

Pete where the hell else do you wanna play a World Test Champ. final other than the symbolic 'home of cricket'. Surely a bubble could have been formed at the hallowed ground. The Ageas Bowl is a postage stamp white ball ground to my knowledge.. with little of the history and atmosphere of Lords.

Mate why are the Pommies resting half a dozen players. Complete disrespect for the side that beat them to the inaugural WTC final. Go on BCs smash that arrogant lot.

It's bloody annoying Craig they won't be playing the final at Lords, as you say it has all the tradition/atmosphere etc - don't know much about Southampton's Rose Bowl, why play on a postage stamp though, they could have at least selected a venue with a bigger ground.
Yeah, that's very arrogant by the Poms resting all those players... it's like they don't want to give us the best possible build up going into the big one.
Mate, that idiot Stead said he's not going to play Boult in the 2nd test either because he wants to keep him for the final... doesn't make any sense, that Test would've been great preparation for him, crazy !

Jamieson's team mates voted him Player Of The Year for the Blackcaps... that's got to give a bit more confidence going into these 2 Tests & the final.

Craig - Conway to start... Santner, Henry & de Grandhomme are competing for two spots.

That dud Santner must have something on the Kiwi selectors Pete. Surely the BCs can find a better tweaker/batsman than him. I see added pressure on Jamieson without Boult in the weakened BC attack. Santner will make the cut as he was the only spinner chosen.. so Henry to go as both Jamieson and " the big man" can hold a bat.
Dom Sibley, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Dan Lawrence
IMO this is where the BCs will get on top and win the series. All inexperienced batsmen that have yet to cement their spots with consistent performances.

I will be tuning in on the Sky feed at 8pm.. we can chat for the first session.

It's astonishing that Santner keeps getting selected in the 11 - reckon Jamieson will do the job without Boult there... don't rate Henry that much as a pace bowler as he doesn't do much with the ball, in English conditions though he could be pretty effective on their seaming wickets.

Totally agree Craig, our bowlers need to really put the squeeze on the inexperienced Pommy batsmen - be great to have a good yak on the first two hours of the Test... great that Fox are getting coverage mate :thumbsu:

BCs win toss and bat Pete. Three all rounders.. with only the solitary specialist in Southee.. is that wise. Woops forgot leg side man.. Wagner.

Not wrapped in the Pom comms.. who is the Kiwi comm. rep mate?

Surprised we chose to bat early in their season Craig - decent start so far though... yeah, Jimmy is 105 and still going 😉

Conway is looking pretty good mate... heard him say before the Test he isn't worried about what position he plays as it's just about mindset so you just need to adjust & play the ball on it's merit, really like his attitude.

Bout time you got here ;) Yeh Conway looking pretty good.. better than Blundell. Like to see him be a little more compact. Tends to play away from his body on occasions. Have you tried the free streaming link yet Pete. post 467.

Root said he'd have also batted.. but liked that there was good grass cover for his quartet of quicks to exploit. Not a quick deck and it has some variable bounce too.

Latham plays on. Other than one play and miss he looked comfortable.

Like the timing Conway gets on his drives.

That was dreadful from Latham... bat on an angle, big gap between bat & pad, shocker, threw his wicket away.

😄
Yeah, Conway has played a couple of loose shots, other than that has played really well in the first session so far, can see him & Williamson putting some really big partnerships together in the future.

Mate, one of the commentators was saying Williamson was asked by a journalist what do you think is so special about Lords... he replied the lunches 😆

Yeah, just had a look mate, have to register though, so will have a look tomorrow :thumbsu:
Pete I dont recall registering when I found the site the other day and bookmarked it. Today I simply clicked the link chose the match then the appropriate stream

Classic Kane. To be brutally honest Lords is not a standout ground.. re stands, facilities etc.. tho I do like the cool space capsule media box. Thebest part of watching cricket here is when they show the incoming batsmen walk thru the members indoor area from the dressing room. It has a special name.. forgotten what is is for the moment.
Latham threw his wicket away.
Bit harsh mate. Beaten by an excellent line from Robinson for mine.
Conway did look uncomfortable against the quick, short stuff from Wood. Otherwise a competent first session for him.
I suppose you will be toddling off to bed soon mate. Sleep well and catch you tomorrow.

Don't think it was harsh at all... the ball is moving about a bit, but Latham movements weren't positive enough & didn't get in line with the ball, he showed that by having a big gap between bat & pad.
