Pakistan vs Australia March-April 2022

I read about Imran Khan's problems. He is also buddy buddy with Russia. Perhaps that is reason for the no confidence vote.

CA website shows the Lahore Test starting Monday

The word I'm hearing from various media sources is there is a school of thought that he has mismanaged Pakistan's economy, foreign policy and the country in general.

In saying that since Pakistan's formation after the 1947 partition, no Pakistan Prime Minister has ever completed their term in office.

Could be the fact they have a close relationship with Russia that is causing people to be upset with how things are being run at the moment.

Yes, the third test begins on Monday. Have edited my post now.

Quite alarming that no elected Pakistan Prime Minister has finished their term in some 75 years.

So what will our X1 consist of. Depends on the deck but PCB boss Ramiz Raja has hinted that the Lahore track will be even better for batting than the previous two. He has already admitted this is pitch doctoring to inhibit Australia's more potent pace attack. Two matches two draws. Dont see anything different this time.

Starc will play evidently so if Hazlewood again misses out then that is shameful as he is being treated more like a reserve bowler instead of one of our strike bowlers. Disrespectful too as before the Ashes, most of which he missed, he was ICC ranked 5. Even now he is one of only two Aussies in the Top 10. We know who the other is.. and it certainly aint our 'cricketer of the year'

Australia have confirmed an unchanged line-up, Pakistan are looking likely to also go into the game unchanged as well.

Lahore is going to be hot and dry for the full five days with the pitch also looking as if it will be a flat one also as it it appears similar to the decks seen at Rawalpindi and Karachi. The toss looks as if will be important with the winner almost certain to bat first.

That is a massive kick in the guts for Josh Hazlewood. CA needs a please explain why he was picked, then treated like he was a shield rookie.

Another pathetic road come dust bowl. eeek.

Australia reached 5/232 at stumps. Usman Khawaja top scored with 91 while Steve Smith contributed 59. Cameron Green remains not out on 20 with Alex Carey on eight. A lot rests on those two to get Australia to a decent total on what looks to be a fairly docile deck again.

I thought Pakistan bowled quite well and did a very good job to restrict Australia. Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled a great over to get both Warner and Labuschagne early in the game while Naseem Shah was also good with the ball. Labuschagne and Head both played fairly poor shots to get out in disappointing circumstances.

Only 88 overs today as well despite playing the extra 30 minutes. It was a rather hot day today but to fall two overs short with the extra 30 minutes is simply not good enough.

Lack of footwork did Warner, Labuchagne threw away his wicket with poor execution. The Pakistan bowlers came into their own when the ball began reverse swinging. That is good news for Australia as all three of our quicks can also reverse it. I can see our leggie Swepson doing well on this track as it deteriorates later in the match.

I admire the way Khawaja has bounced back to his best form after several years in the Test wilderness. But he still has the same flaws in his technique that has me on edge when he is batting. He still has sluggish footwork against both pace and spin, plays away from his body, plays so very late when playing back to spin. But the man has good concentration and resilience and has earned himself tours against Sri Lanka and India. He and Smith and probably Green, not sure any others have to be honest. Head is on very thin ice but the selectors will no doubt take his Ashes performance into perspective when picking the sides for these two upcoming tours.-.

Carey and Green have gotten us into a strong position at lunch on second day with a 100+ partnership. 400 will be a good score on this pitch.

Quality knocks by Carey (67) Green (79). Closest the young West Aussie has come to a century if not mistaken. Only a special reverse swinger was able to remove him.

Stumps 1-90. All our quicks were economical but unable to reverse swing the pill unlike our rookie opposition quicks. Hang your heads.. specially Starc as our only specialist swing bowler. How we have kept this inconsistent pie chucker in our attack all these years is beyond me.

Harsh call when it is the wicket they're playing on.
