The bowlers will get through the Vics pretty well, but it's the batsman going to be the problem.

Couple of good names in there, but the Vics on batting quality easily have the covered.

Vics to do the usual and bat out about 3 days first innings and draw it.

Vics will bat out 2 1/2 days and win the match as is usual when not playing at a sub standard ground with shit drainage

If you say so. Not doubting a Victorian win being very likely, but if they win they are going to be stretched. Queensland would have been very close to winning it last year if Watson held onto the 5 dropped catches in one innings and 2 in the next.

Just like Victoria would have won all those years ago if Stuart Law played by the spirit of cricket...

Lets face it, away teams dont win Shield finals, its too much pressure on them, especially when they decide to bowl first and let the opposition batsmen enjoy 2 days on a beautiful batting strip. Really the final is just a chance for the batsmen of the top side to cap off the year with a big hundred, improve their averages and sometimes chasing personal milestones like 1000 runs for the season etc

MCG will be a massive road for the final, no doubt about it. Vics should win, their bowling is their most obvious weakness whilst Queensland's batting would be their weakness. The game will come down to whoever can make their most of their weaknesses, whoever does that should win the game.

Victoria can't be too negative though even though they only need a draw to secure the shield. The first three days are going to have good weather so they will have to play well in order to secure the Shield. Queensland just need to attack from the word go as that will be the only chance they have of winning the game.

Yeah well QLD cant help it that they dont have any attacking players, but the crowd will love the attacking cricket played by Huss, White, Finchy, Wade and Hastings

Its funny I can never recall away sides winning Shield finals, yet reading an article today I can see why QLDers feel different, just 5 years they were the home team and LOST the Shield final, damn that must hurt

I wont be eating any words, I will enjoy the lack of QLDers on this site over the next 6 months after they get done and they have nothing to talk about with the test side having not featured a QLDer in over 12 months and none look like changing that in the near future

Might see them again in October when they deny the Shield final ever existed or in LtDs case he will still be whingeing about some very correct umpiring decision that may have been the difference between a 300 run loss and a 200 run loss :)

I do hope they put Victorian in again though

I find it funny to see some QLDers around the traps clinging onto Victorias finals record somehow believing the fact they lose the od 50 over final where the toss is vital is relevant to a 5 day match where a draw is good enough. Only QLD lose home Shield finals, not Victoria ;)

When the bulls got up against the vics after that 1 wicket win you were absent from this site for a few days, hell you still haven't even talked about the game.

I'll have you know one thing, the bulls are going to smash the vics, and there is not a thing you can do about it.

Cutting is going to tear the vics apart.
